consumes the hopes of all men dressed in black and flesh

Tomorrow is Friday 13th.
I like the number 13, and I've escaped bad luck happening to me on this day for as long as I can remember.

That's me jinxed then.

Tonight's random thoughts:

* How ace were My Life Story?!

Thanks to meeting up with the drummer boy last weekend, I have been listening to their entire back catalogue all evening. '12 Reasons Why' is one of the best pop songs ever written, 'I Love You Like Gala' still gives me chills ("like Gaaaaaalaaa!!!" ... Fifi knows exactly what I mean here! 4 minutes 57...) 'Motorcade', 'Sparkle', 'Angel'... every one a masterpiece.

Jake may have had a funny voice ('YES she does, she told me!!') but he is a brilliant songwriter and was such a fantastic frontman, and My Life Story are one of my all time favourite bands.

I could list more than 12 reasons why I love My Life Story. They were that good.

'The Golden Mile' is the perfect 'get-ready-to-go-out' album (along with 'Coming Up')... their live shows were always a glittering affair for any and every occasion (Valentine's Day, Election night, New Year's Eve.. done them all!)... the MLS Orchestra were always amazing and frenzied to watch on stage (Rob and his leather trousers, the gorgoeus Lucy, etc)... they gave you the excuse to dress up and have fun (not that I ever need one)... the trump cards (Danny and Gary Glitter, lol)... catching crumpled up numbers being thrown from the stage... the Mr & Mrs-style fanzine interviews I did with every member of the band... watching Crow fall off stage at every gig... flirting with Danny at every gig... Kumar!!! (oh my life, how pretty was he?!)... the aftershows (esp the one where Crow stole wine from his own rider to give to Fifi and I, bless)... the lovehearts... the computer game ('don't shoot me!...)... hell, even that bloody denim suit!

I can't fully articulate how much I love My Life Story. They soundtracked such a fun time of my life, and were for a time, the most perfect band ever.

The last of the flirts? Most definitely.

* Andrew Wood. For A, and for N. 333.

* I want this dress

* Being called a floozy is a compliment, no?

* Water fights, rolling about in the grass and climbing trees. I am regressing and I like it.

I am happy and content right now.
I still have a head full of chaos, but the dreams and wishes I've made tonight are fighting their way to the top of the pile.
