Ok, I think I am properly in lust with Bright Eyes now.
Not him (Conor Oberst) though he is quite pretty, but his music is just stunningly beautiful.
I finally 'obtained' 4 of his albums and they have soundtracked my weekend along with my Marc Bolan boxset
'Lover I Don't Have To Love', 'A Perfect Sonnet', 'Lua', 'The Calendar Hung Itself'... all such perfectly beautiful songs with great lyrics.
I think that's why I like Bright Eyes even more, because of the words.
They're not just throwaway rhyming couplets set to a pretty melody, although there is a time and place for that in every record collection.
I just really love good lyrics. Fantastic words. Stories.
I actually did a search online so I could read them.
They're words I want to memorise, and sing aloud and think about.
