Top 5 Musicians, a meme by me

I was thinking today of who my top five favorite musicians/bands (of all time) were and I decided to make a little meme out of it. A few ground rules: this should be of all time, not just someone you like right now. They have to bands who have withstood the test of time or who are prolific enough that you've heard enough of their music to know that they don't just have one or two good albums. I don't mean that they have to be popular in mainstream society, it just shouldn't be something like "OMG, Lady Gaga is so amazing and I love her musics". Not that I dislike Lady Gaga, in fact I really like her. But in 20 years will she be a guilty pleasure like my love for the Spice Girls? More importantly (for the meme), will her next albums suck? These should be bands/musicians that you can trust to deliver good music. They also need to write their own music (which is why the Spice Girls are not allowed on this list).
