Chapter 2
A New Visitor
Blond Hair, Pigtails, Sweater Vest… “Umm Hello?” said Tia puzzled. The women in her room was staring at a blank wall, she looked to be in her 30’s wearing a dark green thin sweater with a sweater vest over it, Her dirty blond hair was in pig tails with brown hair elastics. She was wearing dark blue pants with black buckle shoes, Tia was half her size. Tia said “HELLO!!” . The women turned around “Hello!” she replied, Tia asked “Who are you?” the women took a pause before she answered back“I’m Antonia” Tia saw her odd posture her arms are bent upwards with a sideways grin on her face Tia replied “I’m Tia.” Antonia smiled and said “Hello Tia nice to meet you” she looked around and saw Brad sitting on Tia’s blue pillow his grey and white shiny fur shined from the sun outside the window, his pars where tucked underneath his furry chest . Antonia said “Oh I see you have a cat, I have a cat too! His name is Cece.” Tia was at awe and couldn’t believe what just happened, suddenly she her dad knock at the door. *Knock Knock* “Tia are you alright? I hear someone in there with you.” “If my dad finds out he will he will probably call the cops and will wonder why there is a strange lady in my room at 8:pm. “ Tia said to herself. She answered “ Umm… no. No one is in here with me” Tia turned to Antonia and said “You have to go into the closet now” Antonia answered “OK!” Antonia didn’t move from her spot Tia pulled a part of Antonia’s sleeve and demanded “Come on! Do you want my dad to call the cops? He is going to have a fit if he sees you in my room you have to move now!” *Knock Knock*. “Tia are you on the phone or something? Open the door now!” “OK!” Antonia shouted. Tia pulled on the closet door knob and opened the door to her closet and pushed Antonia in and shut it. Tia sat on her bed pushing her messed up ponytail back in. “Come in” she said. Her dad opened the door looking around Tia’s bedroom and asked “I thought I heard someone in your room?” “oh … uh you did. It was me I was doing voice over’s” Tia tried to imitate Antonia’s voice but failed. Her father shook his head “You know I heard one of the neighbors in the apartment across the street from us saying you were playing with fireworks.” Tia dropped her head down in shame. Her father patted lightly on her head and said “Look I know you like to have fun but just be careful next time.” Her dad extended his hand out and said “ok give me the fireworks”
“This is my dad. He met my mom at a beach in Miami. My dad likes to listen to country music and his favorite artist is Johnny Cash. My mom on the other likes to listen to 80’s music. My mom used to live in Nevada working at a bank till she got pregnant with me and had to quit and move in Washington .DC with my dad.” Tia pointed at the open empty book s on her desk “There where cards in that book but they flew away and… And..” Her father shook his head and said “Sigh.. I know you like to watch those Pokeman shows but come on this is serious” Tia stood up off her bed and argued “It’s called Pokemon and there is this women in my closet” Tia stormed over to the closet door. “ Look her name is Antonia and…” She open the door to find it empty. Tia looked at the closet and then at her dad. Then pulled her dresses and old sweaters out of her closet to find Antonia “But dad I swear I pushed her in here.” Her father stood up off her bed and walked out towards her bedroom door in disappointment “Ok ok I won’t tell your mother about this” he said while closing the door behind him.
Tia struggled to find Antonia in her closet and was still ripping her closet apart throwing almost half of her close on the ground until Antonia came out from under her bed. Antonia stood behind Tia until Tia felt her elbow hit something behind her while grabbing her last dress. She turned around and got startled by Antonia who was standing behind her. Tia jumped and said “Ahh! Where did you come from?” Antonia looked around the room and said “I- I don’t know” while she had a disappointed look on her face. “Look never mind that” Tia said as walked over towards her desk to get a good look inside the Mad book with an empty hole where the cards should have been. She looked in and saw “A note. Mmmm” The white paper looked like it was folded fours times, Inside it was a message written in cursive hand writing that said
“Too whoever is reading this? Wait a go ASSHOLE you fucked up! Ok but seriously you have to get all of those characters back in the book. Who knows how they are gonna fuck up this world. Hell I don’t want someone to get shot up just because of me. If you wanna capture them back into the book all you have to do is find a beer bottle called DR Mountain and hit em over the head of the character and then they should turn back into a card. Trust me. PS. If Laranda is reading this Hey baby please return my phone calls man I miss ya. XOXO ”
The letter also had someone’s phone number that we are not going to tell you for privacy reasons for whoever wrote this letter. Tia turned to too Antonia “Well I guess we have to find the rest of you friends but by the mean time we should go to bed since I have to get up for school tomorrow” Tia said Antaonia smiled while watching Tia place the piece of paper back into the empty hole inside the book where the cards used to be. Tia pulled one of her blue pillows that was light blue with sunflowers on it and placed it right beside her pillow “Come on. You can sleep with me tonight till morning.” Antonia said “Ok!” then slide right under the cover with her laying on her back looking up at the ceiling. Tia took off her classes and placed them on her lamp desk next to her before turning off the lights and then drifting off to sleep.
Tia woke up with a burst of sunlight hitting her face, She turned over on her right side to be face to face with her cat Brad. His fuzzy cheeks and his light grey and white fur coat with his green eyes staring back at her, “Good Morning!” a loud voice she heard over top of her face. Tia looked up to find Antonia holding Brad, “I wonder how long did she stand there for?” Tia wondered to herself. Tia grabbed her glasses and put them on before she looked up at her digital clock and saw that it was 7:16 am. “Oh Shit I woke up late and now I missed half of my show” She said upset. Tia sat straight up in her bed and wondered “I wonder what am I going to do with Antonia? I mean I can’t bring her to school with me and I can’t say she is my mom but maybe I can tell them that she is my Aunt or cousin since she looks kinda young but maybe I can pull it off and tell them she is my cousin.” Antonia stared out of the window to see Mr Grege bringing his groceries again. Mr Grege looked up at the window to see Antonia staring back at him. The wind was blowing Mr Grege held on to his beret to keep it from blowing. Tia pulled Antonia out of sight of the window, when Mr Grege looked backed up at the window to see Antonia gone. He stared at Tia’s window with a puzzled look before continuing onwards to the front door to the apartment. It was a windy day, the streets here filled with dampness from last night’s rain, the red bricks of the apartment was filled with dampness. Tia said “Be careful I don’t want anyone to see you.” While pulling Antonia towards the bed Tia started to pased back and forth till she thought of an idea. “Hey why don’t I just miss a day of school to catch some of those friends of your” Antonia grinded her sideways grind and replied “OK!” “Alright then it’s a plan. We can climb down the window if no one sees us.” Tia said with excitement. “We would also have to get a bottle of DR Mountain. I can’t go since I’m under age so you are going to have to go in and grab a bottle for me.” “Ok!” Antonia replied. Tia got dressed in her black hoodie with a Coca Cola polar bear holding a bottle of Coke, she wore dark blue jeans with pink and yellow flowers on the bottom. She grabbed her knapsack from off the floor and wiped the dirt off her specs.
Tia looked at her alarm clock and saw that it was 7:50 am and that means her mom is going to be busy watching her favorite morning show called Good Morning Moms Of America, Tia and Antonia set off there plains for this morning.
