i didn't leave the house today. i woke up around noon because i am still on portland time. i meandered downstairs and ate half of the turkey hoagie my boyfriend brought home for me (because he's such a nice guy). then i set to doing some menial chores. i scrubbed the bathtub with comet and i bleached the shower curtains, towels, and wash clothes. i disassembled an ugly coffee table which will be gotten rid of. i wandered around the house fantasizing about what other items would be gotten rid of if i moved away. i realized that i don't have many nice things. well, i always kind of knew that, but it really hit home this time.
i had wanted to go to target to get a few things for the house, but the BF never got his shit together so it didn't happen. maybe tomorrow.
i filed my first claim for unemployment compensation. it was easier than i thought. the government isn't going to be sending me a sweet $300 check for the week i was away, but whatever. it was worth it.
after making the easiest $300 ever, i sat in front of the tv and let an old shirley mcclain movie called "what a way to go" run through as i organized the pictures from my trip on my laptop. i'll probably post the pictures on flickr some time this week. none of them are that great. my fault. so the movie is about how all old shirl wants is to live a simple life without the hassles of wealth, but every poor man whom she marries for love ends up getting super rich and pampering the shit out of her and dying in an accident. poor girl. by the end of the movie she's got 211 million (in the sixties) and 4 dead husbands... or was it 5? no matter. fuck her. paul newman played the jaded sassy artist living in paris. he was pretty hot. i had never considered that before. i'll have to give his salad dressing a second chance.
the rest of the night was spent straightening up a few things, browsing around craig's list for jobs that i'm not interested in, listening to music, taking pictures of my room, reading, blah blah blah. i knocked a burrito on the floor at some point in the night. ugh. i don't know...
