Sweet bird of prey
The volunteer network sent me my conformation packet on the Nepal program today.
--And, Balls of Christ, I'm getting pretty psyched about all this all of a sudden.
It's still a long ways off I guess (7 months, 21 days), and it's only two weeks, but good god it's going to be awesome. And different as hell, which I love. I also love how far outside my comfort zone I'm going to be. I love that I'm going to be teaching somewhere where it's needed--the average life expectancy there is 54, and 80% of the populace live in abject poverty. Health services are few and sanitation is poor. It's pretty much as Not-America as it can be.
Turns out that Nepalese is a lot like Hindi (they use the Devangari script!!), as well, and I'm just ranting with excitement, so good night.
...I only wish I could go for longer.
