This song just came on my iPod while I was doing some cleaning and it instantly transported me into nostalgia-land. Been more than ten years since this song entered my world, but my strongest memories come from my senior year of high school.

Where's your guts
And will to survive
And don't you wanna
Keep rock & roll music alive
Mr. Programmer
I got my hammer
and I'm gonna
Smash my
Smash my
Radio
1. Senior year at BHS. The Taurus, the '92 blue-green love of my life. No CD player, cassettes only. 9 out of 10 times, when I turned on my car, my Ramones mix tape would start blaring. This was one of the songs from that tape, and thus will forever be remembered as part of the soundtrack to that time in my life.
2. The research paper I wrote on the Ramones as a final project during my freshman year at UArts. Right around the same time it was due, they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Dee Dee Ramone died of a drug overdose shortly thereafter.
3. Going back to 12th grade, the day Joey Ramone died. I was heartbroken. It was three days before the first time Gabby and I went to see the Misfits on their 25th anniversary tour, a tour Joey had been scheduled to join them on. The Misfits ended up playing a Ramones setlist and dedicated the show to Joey. At some point during the show I ended up standing next to a big guy with a brand new Joey Ramone tattoo on his arm. We ended up seeing the Misfits several times on that tour, and they were joined by Marky Ramone, which was awesome, but not the same.
4. When I got my first iPod, which is actually my only iPod and the one I still use four years later, the first thing I did was load it up with Ramones songs, firstly from the recently-released Weird Tales of the Ramones.
5. Discussing things that the Ramones wanted, and did not want, over diner food with Jaime and Eric during college, most likely accompanied by plenty of coffee, cigarettes, and chicken fingers.
