I've been reading all sorts of random manga lately.
Most of them are shoujo one-shots~~~ LOL, I never thought I would start reading those kinds of stuff!X3
Weird/Freaky stuff I've read:
K no Souretsu by Kusumoto Maki
- I actually liked this! It's about a man that moves to a new apartment room. The previous owner of the room he was renting had just died. The corpse was missing, but for some reason all of the neighbors knew he was dead. There's even a song inspired by this manga: Wasurenagusa~K no Souretsu~ by Nightmare. XD
Tomie by Ito Junji
- This was SO disturbing!! X____X There was a girl who was so pretty that for some reason all the guys who liked her would kill and dismember her body. But then she would be alive again. The art is very disturbing. X__x
Arigatou by Yamamoto Naoki
-This was even more disturbing than Tomie. X___x It's about a broken family. The two daughters did nothing but engage in smexual play, the mom was alcoholic, and the dad was, I think, unemployed. X__x And then there was a scene in which the family receives a chicken bucket meal like the ones you get from KFC, and their dog's head was inside. I hate this manga. X______________X
Some stuff I've read in the romance genre:
Only the Ring Finger Knows by Hotaru Odagiri
-I loved this manga~~~~<3 It's shonen-ai. 8D I don't know how to explain the plot, so let's leave it at that. XD
Lovely Complex by Nakahara Aya
-This was recently adapted into an anime, but I think the manga is better<3 I liked it a lot. The protagonist's feelings really show.<3
For Those of Us Who Begin to Love by Youko Maki
-This was SO corny. X___x The only thing I remember about it was that the guy thought the girl liked his friend, but the truth was, the girl liked him a lot. The guy's friend was called Arioke. 8D I remember because he has the same surname as Arioka Daiki. XD
17sai Hajimete no H by various
-The cover of this manga fooled me!! X___X I thought it was a yaoi manga because the cover had a nekkid guy on it, but then it was het. TT[]TT It's a series of one-shots about some girl's first time in bed. So perverted. X___x But I read it anyway. XD;;; The story I remember best from this was about this girl who was still a virgin because she says it hurts. XD So she goes to a guy in her school who was nicknamed the "virgin-killer" and asks him to "take her virginity". WTF.
Bitter~Nakechau Koimonogatari by various
- It's another series of one-shots. These are "sad" though. XD I liked "Racing Queen" by Izumi Kaneyoshi. It shows that behind all those pretty smiles, celebrities can even cause harm to others just to get to the top. XD NUUUUUU I hope those Johnnys aren't like that!! X__x
Fujimi Orchestra by (sorry, I forget her name XD;;;)
- A yaoi manga. The story was pretty good~~<3 About a guy and an orchestra, and the new conductor whom he hated so bad. XD
Hajime by Obata Takeshi
- It was alright. The art was pretty. XD;; About two kids who made an imaginary girl to be the scapegoat when one of them did something bad, and then the girl suddenly became alive. XD
Wanted!! (Romance Dawn) by Oda Eiichiro
- This was One Piece's pilot manga. The character design for Nami wasn't so pretty, and her name was different. XD
Candy Life by Ogawa Yayoi
- I was kind of bored with this. About a girl who was about to get married with a guy, but then she fell in love with her son (who was, far more good-looking than the dad XD).
Ai no Tame ni by Kawahara Kazune
- This is another series of one-shots. The first story was of a girl whose matchmaking had a high success rate, but she couldn't seem to find a boyfriend for herself. XD The stories in this are awesome. \(^w^)/
Because You Smile When I Sing by Takaya Natsuki
- This bored me. X___x It's a series of one-shots about music. X___x
Other manga:
Fuguruma Memories by Toume Kei
- This is about a guy who had a doll who could take pictures of memories. They lived in a town where objects that were thrown away or no longer used by their owners resided. These are short stories about the stuff that come to have their picture taken. XDDD The art is beautiful. Each page is painted in a very detailed way.<3
