If Yoochun and Junsu noticed how Jaejoong was just a tad bit more hyper than usual, they didn’t mention it. They were just happy to be able to see their friend and band mate smile again. Something they hadn’t seen too often since the band’s breakup. But to Jaejoong the world seemed like a lot brighter and nicer place ever since he had read that hidden message, sent to him as some kind of reassurance by his lover.
To Jaejoong, the grass seemed just a bit more green, the sky just a bit more blue and most of the time he was disgusted by his own greasiness for thinking things like that. Not that he could help it, really. He was just too happy. And in love. Like a teenager.

The longer he had to go without a message from Yunho, though, the more his mood dampened. It was ridiculous how fast he had grown accustomed to the small sticky notes.
That day was a particularly bad one. The lead singer had just returned from his latest solo photo shoot and he was nowhere near content with the outcome. He had looked at the masses of pictures of himself, the photographer gushing over every single one and asking Jaejoong to pick his favorites, and all he really wanted to do was to throw all of them away. In one picture he had looked too fat for his liking, in the next his nose had looked too crooked, in the one after that he had looked like he was sick.
That day was one of those days the idol looked at the mirror and couldn’t understand why millions of girls were fawning over him, claiming to be in love with him, spending all their money on him. Or why someone as perfect and gorgeous as Yunho would ever fall for him.

Jaejoong groaned when his phone beeped to remind him that, to make matters worse, that day was also the day of the pre-release party of their latest album. He wasn’t a big fan of those parties to begin with, and with his self-esteem creeping somewhere below zero, an event like this didn’t exactly sound like more fun.
Already making up various excuses in his mind as to why he was unable to attend the party, so he could present them to Yoochun and Junsu later, if possible without making them worry unnecessarily, he was startled by a knock on the front door. Stumbling to his door, almost falling over the various items of clothing that were scattered everywhere on the floor, where he had discarded them that morning, depressed, because nothing was quite fitting or looking good on him, he opened the door and found himself face to face with a security guard. It wasn’t the usual guard sitting downstairs, but someone a lot younger who Jaejoong had only seen briefly a couple of times before. Judging from the fidgeting, the stuttering and the bright red face of the poor boy, he was probably a fan as well and for a moment the singer was tempted to ask the boy just what exactly he saw in him when he himself clearly didn’t see anything remotely attractive or special when he studied himself in the mirror sometimes. But then he was distracted by the big envelope the guard handed him and he quickly dismissed the thought of an interrogation. It couldn’t be…?

Rewarding the boy in front of his door with a last smile, which had said boy’s head going even redder, if possible, Jaejoong all but slammed the door shut and practically ran back to his bed, where he had been curled up before, to throw himself on it and rip the envelope open.
Inside he found another, smaller envelope with a sticky note attached to it. Jaejoong could feel his heartbeat quicken immediately and with almost trembling hands he detached the note to read it.

The singer frowned. Positive aspects of his life? He was well aware of the fact that he lived a life most people envied him for, mind you. It was a life that allowed him to meet people and do and experience things others couldn’t even dream of. A life that allowed him to do what he himself had always dreamt of doing for a living. But that didn’t change the fact that he was just human as well and that he, too, had days when he just doubted his own talent, looks and achievements, and wanted nothing more than to curl up on his bed and hide from the world’s critical eyes. He was almost disappointed with that note, when he remembered the other envelope.

Inside it he found a piece of paper, a carefully written list on it:
1. You are being loved by millions and you have been and still are part of the biggest thing that has ever happened in the Asian music industry. Without you, it couldn't have happened. No matter what you do or how much you doubt yourself, there are millions out there who will always see the true awesomeness within you and who love you, no matter what.

2. You have an awesome family with a whole bunch of amazing sisters, a great father and even two caring mothers. How many people are as lucky as that? Every single one of them wouldn’t hesitate a second to give their lives for yours, if they had to, because every single one of them loves you unconditionally.

3. You’ve got the most amazing friends and the most important pillar, your soul mate, always with you. You can rely on all of your friends with whatever. You can call them at any given time, ask them for the most ridiculous favors and all of them will gladly move heaven and hell to help you. Because they are your friends and they love you just as you are.

In another, more messy handwriting, there was a sentence scribbled under that paragraph: I love you and your Kimchi jjigae, hyung!
Jaejoong broke into a huge grin and had to blink away a few tears before he continued reading.

4. You have a wonderful boyfriend who would do anything for you and who fights for you every single day. He is convinced that, if the relationship can survive SME, and it will, it can survive anything and will last an eternity. He can’t wait to be able to see you again and he hopes that, until then, you will have the strength and self-confidence to go on and fight, as well.
I love you, boo. ♥

Jaejoong let the piece of paper sink down and for a while he just stared down at it, view slightly blurred by unshed tears. Yunho didn’t know how thankful Jaejoong was for this, how much strength it gave him, really. But the singer would make sure to let his boyfriend know as soon as he got the chance to. Nodding to himself, he got up, put the list back in its envelope and stored everything carefully in the drawer of his bedside table. Then he picked up some random clothes from the floor and proceeded to the bath room. He had to get ready - there was a party to attend to, after all.

If Yoochun and Junsu thought it weird how their band mate hugged and thanked them “just for being there” first thing he arrived at the party, they didn’t mention it. They were just happy to be able to see their friend and band mate smile.
