Okay, so who else here wants to discuss the fact that
a Doctor Who film by David Yates was just announced?
I'm just baffled. Why did they feel they needed to reinvent it already? When RTD picked it up again, it had been off the air for years. Why announce that they're going to start working on a movie set for a few years from now while we're still in the midst of a widely well-received show? Will it be a somehow bigger way to kick off a Twelfth Doctor? But how will it have any sort of continuity with the series if Moffat isn't even done with Eleven yet?
OR has David Yates been watching all the places where Moffat has been failing and thought, "Fuck that, I can do better"? I like that option. ALSO perhaps his years working with Rupert Grint on HP will give us the connection we need to make Rupert the Rude & Ginger Twelfth Doctor. MAYBE THIS MOVIE CAN BE A POSITIVE THING AFTER ALL. But, er, I'm not holding my breath. Ugh.
