Can't remember how I found myself here (probably through one of our mutual friends like Aleesha or Cris or Julie, idk) but actually, I saw Panic in concert last night, and so I've been thinking about them a lot lately. Good timing for a nostalgia post! :) Mostly my thoughts are this:

I sincerely hope that they are all just as happy as they can stand to be. Brendon and Spencer and Ian and Dallon put on a really good show together. And while it's still a little bittersweet for me to see people who aren't Ryan and Jon sharing the stage with Brendon and Spencer, Ian and Dallon legitimately sound great up there, and I'm fans of the both of them independently from their ties with Panic, so I feel good about it. There were a couple of moments (especially during Camisado) when I started to feel a little sad about them singing Ryan's lyrics without him being there, but it is what it is and if Ryan can put that part of his life behind him and move on then surely I can too.

As for Ryan and Jon, I haven't heard the songs Jon released on his own a few weeks back, but he's got his lovely wife and his dog and his cats and he's making music, so I would imagine he's pretty happy. And I was catching up with Ryan's twitter yesterday and it seems he's working with a guy (not sure if he's a producer or musician or what) who worked with Jamiroquai (and actually, they may just be hanging out, as there wasn't really any references to new material or being in the studio or writing, etc). I'm a little bummed that The Young Veins didn't seem to take off (I thought their album was pretty good. Not one of my favorites, and I was a little ??? with some of the lyrics, but there were a few songs on there that I really liked), and I wish I knew that I'd get to see them perform live again, but as long as they're happy and healthy.

Hi! Friend-in-laws always welcome.

It's really good to hear that the newest incarnation of Panic is still great together on stage. I think you have a really healthy, realistic attitude about all the dudes, and that's also good to hear. I think the simplest way I can put my feelings toward them is that I fell out of love with Panic a long time ago, but it's similar to the way I would fall out of love with a person in my life: how I never really stop loving them, not completely, but whatever magic we had before has gone and probably gone for good.

I sincerely hope that they are all just as happy as they can stand to be. <-- I completely agree. And gosh, Jon Walker and his lovely lovely wife and pets! I always figured that if any of them would get some form of happily-ever-after it'd be Jon & Cassie, they were always just so damn adorable together.

Gah, I'm starting to get all sentimental, but regardless, thanks for sharing your thoughts here. Myself and all my friends who are still Panic fans haven't kept up with current!Panic at all, so it's refreshing to hear from someone who has. ♥
