Meme borrowed from mimimimi_word

It's quite enlightening and not at all. I was always different growing up. We lived in the woods, we weren't blond. We didn't eat traditional, white midwestern food -- just ask the friends who always wanted to know what was for dinner before coming over (rabbit, frog, tripe, nothing was verboten).

A Quaker thinking about social class wrote up a set of "how privileged was your upbringing" questions, and made it into a meme. She based it on an exercise by Will Barratt, Meagan Cahill, Angie Carlen, Minnette Huck, Drew Lurker, Stacy Ploskonka at Illinois State University, who ask that their copyright be acknowledged by anyone doing this meme.

This is based on North American/United States culture. Items in bold are true for me.

2. Father finished college

4. Mother finished college

5. Have any relative who is an attorney, physician, or professor

10. Had lessons of any kind before you turned 18

11. Had more than two kinds of lessons before you turned 18

22. Had a phone in your room before you turned 18

33. You were unaware of how much heating bills were for your family . No, I was very aware. It was the '70s. We heated our house with wood, I'm quite handy still with an ax, hatchet, chainsaw and wood splitter. Plus even when we graduated to a more traditionally heated house, it was always cold. Maybe that's why I can't turn the thermostat above 64 degrees, still.
