I had a shopping day today. Not christmas shopping. I bought stuff for myself. I usually don't do that. I get lots of birthday money, but it always goes in the bank because since it's so close to christmas I don't see any reason for buying stuff for myself. But I thought, I want this stuff now. So I'll get it.
I had Wal-mart and Meijer giftcards. Neither stores had the DVDs I was looking for. So at Wal-Mart I bought boots. Not snow boots. Just regular black boots. They are good enough to keep snow out of my shoes, but they arent big and annoying like snow boots and they looks good with jeans. So good. I also bought the game Clue for my sister. yeah, that's a christmas present for someone else, but we were just talking about it last night and we will play together so I guess that doesnt really count as christmas shopping.
At Meijer I thought about buying a book but I bought makeup instead. I really wanted a book, but I always get borders giftcards for Christmas. And I needed new eyeshadow. I stood in the makeup aisle for about 20 minutes. It's like I don't know what makeup is. I have no idea what colors look good on me. At one point I put everything back and thought about going back and getting a book. But I eventually found some eyeshadow and blush. I guess I'm still a girl.
I still really wanted the DVDs I was looking for so I went to Best Buy. I had a 25 dollar visa gift card so I used that. I got Bobby and the My So-Called life series. The gift card help but I still paid 50 dollars. I got a lot of cash for my birthday too so I guess I can say I used my birthday money. I've wanted both DVDs for a long time, I would have purchased them separately anyway. But I just went ahead and bought them at the same time even though I hate spending that much in one place. I'll just look at it as I got Bobby for free and got 4 dollars off for MSCL. Haha.
Best Buy is right by Great Clips so I decided to go in and get my hair cut. Luckily it was slow so I didn't have to stay and work. That's what I hate about being on call. I can never just stop in without worrying about having to stay and work. Jess cut my hair so I cleaned her station as a tip. haha. And I swept some hair and signed people in as long as I was there. I didn't care. I saw it as paying for my haircut. But then I left when more people started coming in. Hah. I work there all weekend then Monday and Tuesday I might have to go in. I definitely work 10-6 on wednesday. I'll probably work Friday. So much for thanksgiving break. Oh well.
It was nice not working today. Last night my sister and I didnt want to go to bed since neither of us had to be awake in the morning. We were too lazy to go out though. so we stayed up and played Trivial Pursuit 90's edition and I finished my college juice (Arbor mist). I kicked her butt at the game. One question was something like "what future sex and the city star was on this episode of seinfeld." And Chrissy said Marcia Clark. hahah oh my that made me roll over and laugh. She meant Marcia Cross but that wasn't even the right show. Marcia Clark. haha.
In preschool news, I guess there really isnt any. It's just been really hectic with new students and stuff. There's so much to do and no time to do it. Jana and I are feeling kinda rushed or pressured because the day moves along so quickly. Sharon moves from one thing to the next and keeps telling us all of these things to do. we barely have time to finish one task and she's starting another. Snack just finishes and we are trying to clean tables and put placemats away and Sharon has the kids out the door for motor. I don't know. It's just hectic. It's like, I'm supposed to be taking pictures of kids at play, then she tells me to write down what they say, and then she hands me 3 kids to take to the bathroom, and then "Have the writing samples been filed yet?" I understand preschool is busy and fast paced and all of these things are my job, but there it's only me and only one Jana. Jana has been doing this for three years and she says the other classrooms she's been in weren't like this. So I dunno. But still, I get paid to help kids paint paper pumpkins. It's fun.
Okay I think I'll go watch Bobby now. Byebye.
