- I'm still rather pleased about how well our personal gifts to TE Jara went over. It's always good to have friends who appreciate handwovens, and friends who are good sports.

- On Tuesday, Prince Tom presented Ilya with an Aquila (GOA level award for combat archery and siege craft). So now he is now both Excellent and Honorable. Hurrah! He's still wandering around saying things like "I have an Aquila!" and "Man, I've really got to do more shooting". I find this highly entertaining.

- Work is crazy. News at 11. (I don't know why that phrase is automatically arranged for eastern TV schedules in my head, but it sounds wrong when I try to tweak it.)

- I am deeply grateful that nobody took me up on my offer to remotely attend India meetings, which would've required temporarily switching to an overnight schedule. Given all the other chaos in the last month, doing that would've hurt.

- I'm heading back to Denver again next week, this time on the New Giant Project 'o Doom, which caoilfhionn has dubbed "Dufflepud".

- I can tell I've been on the original GPOD for rather a long time, because I found myself pleased that we're going to be in Denver because then I can talk to Pam (key coworker on both projects) about Dufflepud in the evenings - only to remember that the whole reason we're going is for Dufflepud.

- When coworkers greet each other as "Hey honey", it's usually safe to assume they know one another.

- It's really annoying trying to run an international meeting when your computer has decided not to talk to your keyboard, or vice versa.

- Ilya and I are on the verge of entering the modern communications world. I've decided I need a cell phone with lots more PDA style functions (access to work email being key, plus things like a GPS for navigating unfamiliar cities), and Ilya's just decided he wants a phone and maybe some music features. So we spent last evening looking at options, only to be thwarted by ordering issues. But hopefully I'll manage to go back and get us on that road today or tomorrow. I'll update with phone numbers when we have them.

- Thanks for mia_mcdavid for the reminder - This weekend is Fiber Fair!
