Following the delights of the Meet & Greet the night before, we both woke up very early the following day - far too excited for sleep!
We had an early start anyway as the Main Hall where the Q&A's were opened for seating at around 08:15.
The first Q&A at 09:15 was Meet the Producers with Martin Wood, Amanda Tapping and Damian Kindler. This talk was one of my absolute favourites (and not just because it was Martin!) but because the relationship these three have is really great to watch. Clearly Amanda and Martin are such great friends and together with Damian they make an awesome team. I'm afraid I can't really remember the questions asked because I was too busy snapping away with the camera!
We got a few little titbits about season 3 as well which was cool, but you won't read any here! I'm trying to stay as spoiler free for 3 as I can so trying to forget the few things I heard ;-). At the end of the Q&A Ryan Robbins came out to ask us if we would be interested in donating money in a bucket run to hear him sing and play a few songs on the guitar. We of course all said yes and Amanda, Damian and Martin brought the buckets round.
After this there was the first photo and auto session. These were dotted throughout the day to give the guests enough time to get everyone done. We had our autos with Martin at this point whilst Amanda was doing photos. It's a testament to how many she had to do those as she had to carry on into the afternoon session! They were all great sports though, and extremely generous with their time.
After lunch, around 14:45 Ryan and Damian set up on stage and sang 4 songs some more well known such as one by Damien Rice and Hallelujah. It was amazing, Ryan is an incredible singer and both of them are awesome on the guitar!
The next Q&A was 15:30 with Ryan Robbins and Agam Darshi. Ryan was fantastic, so funny and they both seemed to have a lot of fun up there. It was clear Agam was a bit more nervous but she did so well considering it was her first convention. Again can't remember a great deal except for them both talking quite a lot about how Agam beats Ryan up on set not intentionally but because he's a baby! Ryan said he was also really excited about what his character has to face in the season so it sounds as though we will get some good Henry bits, although thats the only spoiler you'll hear from me!
After that we had another fairly long break before the charity auction began at 17:20. In the break Laurie had very kindly bought a group photo with myself, Jumble, her and Sharon and Amanda of course! I won't show it for various reasons but it was a lovely photo and many thanks to Laurie for buying it! I will however post the other ones I got that afternoon...
*SQUEES* :D:D
The charity auction was for me the best part of the whole weekend. Not only because so much money was raised for such a good cause but also because most of the guests were there (I think only Agam, Robin, Chuck and Lee weren't). Unfortunately the bidding went rather out of my price range, but the whole thing was so much fun to watch. The bidders kept making the guests run around and show them the items. In quite a few cases they didn't know what the item was straight away and so made up the description which was really funny. The best bit of the auction had to be when the quilt was put up for sale. To model it Martin wrapped it around himself and as the bidding went up and up he took his shirt off underneath it!! At that point Laurie shouted out she'd bid more if Martin threw in his shirt which caused lots of laughter but he did and then at some point after much goading from the audience and other guests took his pants off underneath the quilt. In the end the quilt and shirt went to Laurie and I had a sneaking suspicion who she was going to give the shirt to ;). At the end she came across to Jumble and handed it over so now Jumble owns one of Martin's shirts (and I have to say it smells awesome!)
A couple of other items auctioned off included the script from 2010 and one from Nightwalkers which included all of Martin's shot lists for the episode which he acted out a bit of for us!
The charity auction overran by an hour or so I think but it was great because it was just so much fun. That marked the end of that days events until the Abnormals Ball that evening. We did drop by the ball but not for long and we managed to miss Ryan and Robert who stopped by to say hi to all the fans and see the costumes which they thought were great. We actually went to see the fireworks that night in the Vancouver Celebration of Light but I'll post about those in the sightseeing report!!
On to day 3...
