there's something in the water

Okay, the semi-sort-of hiatus was a total fluke. I can't get off LJ it's not even fair. >.<

Ask me how I did for the first week of exams! Actually, scratch that, don't ask me shit about it. I'm going to pretend that I don't know that I did horribly for the second History paper because I procrastinated the whole of yesterday. In my defence, I don't ( Read more... )

So, I've recently been too poor to get my hair cut and so it's progressed from chin length bob to just past my shoulders and I put it into two French braids all the time. I love it.

I also blame braids, all sorts of them, on why I'm a lesbian. Seriously. So hot. All the time. It's like a fairy tale! But also with function! and style!

I wish I knew how to braid like some of those. I can braid alright because I taught myself when I got to college and everyone wanted to have their hair braided--so I learned. But I wish I could do the braids like the two pictures above the complicated ART hair. Ya know? Where they cut across your head and look like headbands or whatever? Gosh. I WANT. I WANT THEM ON ME AND I WANT THEM ON EVERY GIRL I SHAG.

OKAY BB. THE HEADBAND BRAID. I CAN DO THAT. You need to have long-ish hair for that grab a section of your hair from the side and braid your way across. As in you start with a normal braid and then you add on to each part of the braid by grabbing more little parts of hair and adding to the original braid. It takes a bit of practise hell of a lot of time working on it but you should be able to catch on if you already know how to braid. I KNOW IT SOUNDS ALL SORTS OF WEIRD. I CANNOT EXPLAIN THIS. IDK. Youtube a tutorial. And practise until it works because bb, HOT BRAIDS ARE WORTH ALL THE TIME.

^ I just reread that whole paragraph and realise that I DON'T MAKE SENSE. So you can just ignore that. XD

I was going to explain the headband braid for you, BB, but sarahyyy beat e to it! It's surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it, and it CAN BE DONE WITH SHORT HAIR YAY!

Well, I understood the way you explained it, but maybe that's just me. Here's my attempt:

Start with the longest strand of bangs on the right side of your face, and make the first two or three weaves. (To do this, your bangs, or your front hair, needs to be down in your face, or you'll need help). Pull that portion of hair over your head, like a headband, to the left, and work a french braid with your hair across your scalp. Really not very difficult, especially standing in front of a mirror.

note: French braiding: grabbing a little bit extra hair with each weave. I wish I could draw a picture, lol.
