“A PIMP?” Al roared.
Scorpius and Optimus both nodded.
“A pimp,” Rose echoed looking dubiously at Al.
Scorpius and Optimus nodded again.
“I’m not going to be a pimp!” Al exclaimed, looking extremely disgusted with the idea, “And I’m most definitely not going to pimp my cousin!”
“Technically speaking,” Optimus started, “You’ll only have to introduce her to Guardo. And then…finito.”
“No,” Al protested, “Guardo meets his women in hotel rooms. Hotel rooms. I’m not going to send my cousin there and let her stay there and let him do…do I don’t know what he’ll do to her. I refuse to.”
A flicker of fear shone in Rose’s eyes but she squared her shoulders anyway. “Nothing will happen to me.”
Al shook his head vehemently. “You can’t know that for sure.”
“Nothing will happen, Al,” she said reassuringly again. Optimus nodded.
Al turned to Scorpius for backup. “Scorp?”
Scorpius licked his lips and ran the plan through his head. It wasn’t perfect, of course, but it was close. They had gotten out of worse situations before. Rose shouldn’t have any problem with it. But…
“Only if you’re alright with it,” Scorpius told Rose.
“Mad!” Al exclaimed. “All of you are mad! I should have known better than to team up with a bunch of Slytherins,” he muttered.
“BUT,” Scorpius interrupted Al’s speech, “I want you to alert us as soon as you feel uncomfortable. Anytime you feel uncomfortable with Guardo.”
“Which would be as soon as she meets him, obviously,” Al muttered angrily, frowning.
“Oh, people, I’ll be just fine,” Rose said with a roll of her eyes, “You are just being dramatic. What is the worst that can happen?”
“Geez,” Al turned to look at her and spoke, his voice laced thickly with sarcasm, “I don’t know, him drugging you and bringing you back to his room to have his dirty way with you? Or maybe that isn’t even the worst case scenario to you, I have a few more, shall I share?”
“Al…” Optimus interjected warningly as Rose’s eyes narrowed angrily but Al seemed to have not heard him.
“The worst case scenario is if he doesn’t even bother to drug you. He just drags you to some isolated corner, rapes you and kills you,” Al hissed harshly, staring straight ahead into Rose’s eyes, “What would Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione think of that, Rose? Let me tell you, they won’t approve.”
“How dare you?” Rose growled, “Don’t you bring my parents into matters that are not their concern.” She paused to draw a shaky breath. “What we’re doing now is no different. You think they’d be proud of us for grifting? Newsflash, Al, it ain’t happening.”
Al’s fists tightened. “At least I know well enough to think for myself and the people I care about.”
“Albus, I think that is enough,” Scorpius ordered coldly, moving to stand in between the two.
They were all silent for a moment or two. Then…
“I’m sorry,” Al sighed, “I…overreacted. I just…don’t want anything to happen to you.”
Rose gave him a wobbly smile. “I know. I’m sorry too.”
Optimus shook his head, hiding a small smile. The Weasley-Potter fights were famous for being quick to start and just as quick to end.
“But I really don’t like this, Scorpius,” Al murmured, “I don’t like the idea of Rose meeting him in his room. Anything can go wrong from there.”
Scorpius’ tongue darted out to wet his lips, a sign that he was thinking. “Okay,” he started slowly as a plan mapped itself out in his head, “You tell him you want to meet him somewhere for a drink first before you…introduce Rose to him. I don’t know what you can say, but I’m sure you’ll come up with something. I don’t think Guardo would do anything in a public place.”
Optimus nodded, stroking his chin. “I can get a meeting for Al. We can probably make it sound like we want him to buy a good meal or something, make it seem like Al’s a greedy, shallow pimp.”
Rose cracked a grin at that. “I can’t see Al as a pimp at all.”
“Glamour charm is a definite must in this case,” Optimus said with a snort, “Al would look more like one of the poncy gigolos more than he does a pimp.”
Scorpius looked at Al and squinted slightly. “Maybe a stripper?”
Al glared. “I hate you people.”
The three Slytherins just chuckled.
