"William Donald Peffer Jr., 68, of Creekside died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at Shadyside Hospital.
Born Sept. 29, 1937, in Greensburg, he was the son of William Sr. and Valeria W. Brown Peffer.
Mr. Peffer was a graduate of Saltsburg High School and Bucknell University. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Before his retirement, he had been employed as a teacher at East Pike Elementary School.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served as a major in Army Intelligence.
In his spare time, Mr. Peffer enjoyed playing tennis, roller coasters and was a Penguins hockey fan.
He was also a Civil War buff who participated in many re-enactments.
He is survived by his wife, June Elaine Morrow Peffer; three sons: Tim and wife Barb and their son Zakkari; Don and wife Robin; and Mark and wife Lynn and their two daughters, Rachael and Sarah; a daughter, Tammi Grumski and husband Jack and their children Kyle and Kayla of Gibsonia; a brother, Edward and wife Joyce; and a sister, Joan Resnick and husband Chuck.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be private. Interment will be in the Twin Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Delmont.
