An Cafe review
Yeah i wrote this on my xanga blog, my facebook and now i will copy paste on to here xD
I went to An Cafe yesterday! It was pretty awesome, it was so much fun and was so much better than last year. I arrived at the venue at half 9 in the morning, i was infront of like 8 people, but on the list i was like 26th (yeah there was a list of the number of people in the queue), so i could have been on the front or second row in the concert, but i didnt wanna leave people behind. During my time in the queue, before my friends arrived, i met some awesome people who sat with me, ahh good times. alwys remember haha. They sang scissor sisters and Queen Hhaha. It was great talking and messing about with them. At 11-something am...we saw The Red Car tour bus arrive, ...from last year experience i thought they wouldnt be in the bus. But as we walked up to the bus, i saw Miku walk out the bus, and then saw us(probably didnt expect fans to be queuing for a gig at that time haha), he had a oh shit look on his face and quickly went back in the bus hahah. This made us walk to other side of the road to catch glimpses of the band in the bus...I saw a glimpse of Teruki..he was smiling haha. A little later on, we saw them get out of the tour bus, Teruki kept waving at us..I saw Miku first, all the minders walked infront of them. Kanon, miku and yuuki had their hoods up. There was only about 8 of us standing there, but we didnt bother to scream or anything as they need their space. Teruki was walking with Takuya haha. Teruki turned around and waved at us..and some people said Nyappy, and Miku heard turned slightly and threw his arms in the air and said nyappy. It was highlight of my day before the gig.
Ahh, a few hours later, I joined Matt, hatty and jacs at the back of the queue, yep i lost my place but i didint care..i wanted to be with my friends..it was funny talknig to them and ranting and bitchng hahahah. Hatty is so cute I could poke her until she cries....and matt and her make such a cute couple haha. Kirstie came later on by running in to us...she went straight in to fan girl mode by finishing off making her scarf for takuya hahhaha. And then we saw Lavender, who was cosplaying, so i gave her my hat. Paine came along, and it was actually the first time i met her since stalking her on youtube, ahhh i love that girl so much haha. It was fun..just talking random crap...and eyeballing hot guys :D. I saw a guy who looked like lead singer of plastic tree..and i asked him for a picture ;). Rosie and Sophie eventually came(well rosie arrived before but year), it was so awesome meeting them again. Its fun to bully sophie :). She cosplayed as Reita..it was so cool. Then we met Jade and Gene.....they look completly different without their costume hahah. Ahh, the big group was full of random things and just messing about. It was great spending time with them. It made the time go faster
On to the gig:
Doors opened from 7pm, and by last minute i decided to go up the balcony like last year, because i know that if i tried to be downstairs i would not be able to see...at all. Thanks Matt, for saving me and Rosie space! After, I suppose an hour long wait and lots of chants that kept dying...An Cafe finally came on. One by one. Each scream towards each band member. Ahh watching them come onbrought back memories of last years gig, and i realised from that moment, i was so happy to be able to have the chance to see them again.
The set list was(not in order and only of what i remember, i will have probably missed out a few songs, if i do please help me by telling me what songs they sang):

Compared to last year, you could tell how much each band member improved in their performing. Takuya was the most improved person there, like seriously from the guy last year who just stood there shy and looked cute to this guy that looked that he was actually really enjoying himself, he put himself out for the crowd and the confidence he had really showed. Yuuki was so amazing, he is so dorky haha, he danced whenever he didn’t have to play the keyboard especially in Nyappy 4. Ahaha, it mademe smile a lot just watching Yuuki and Miku dancing and singing together. Maybe i never focused on Teruki last year(i only kept looking at Miku last year), but i only realised that he sings and smiles while drumming, he looks up quite a lot and i tried to wave at him but i dont think he saw. He must the most happiest drummeri know out of all the bands i listen to. Kanon just looked as awesome as ever and messed up when he had to speak english hahha, it was funny. He really gives his all when playing the bass, he always looks up too, which made us happy. Miku has changed so much in performing, he was like basicly blowing kisses, dancing a lot more , giving “sexy looks” (it looked like it from up at the balcony!) to the crowd. Ahh i love it when he speaks english. It was really cute when he was like “Are you having fun?....Are you having FUN?...AREYOU HAVING FUN?.....awwww me too” hahhaah. All of them can speak english better now hahah. Takuya was like “Do you like an cafe?...do you really like an cafe?....i love you too”.
Each band member did their own thing, and that what made the whole concert so much fun and so much entertaining.
I was so happy when they sang Tekusuta Kousen, it’s one of my favourite songs, they played it really well.Its such a fun song, and i never realised that Miku could scream so cool...i mean i would hear it in the cd but never live. He could do a death metal scream if he wanted to hahah...he did this for Kawaiyu rock too. I really love his voice. And he really showed it in Orange Dream. Man....I think in my opinion, i dont think Miku, Teruki and Kanon are over Bou yet, because they have put this song on the set list twice..in both tours. Bands would change the setlist around. I know it might not mean anything, but i suppose they havent got over it. I guess they get their strenght through this song, Teruki, Kanon and Miku put their everything in this song. You could see Teruki with his hair all over his face while drumming, Kanon just looking at the floor while playing his bass and Miku singing with a lot of emotion. This song nearly made me cry, and I don’t usually cry in ballad songs in lives. I know this song is in Japanese and i wouldnt understand it but i actually read the translated lyrics and it shows how much Miku can show emotion in his lyrics. I took it all in, the song, the emotions, his voice, this is why i nearly cried. Yup..im a pathetic little fan girl hahah.
Ahhh, when i figured out through moscow photos that Miku had a donald duck on his hand..i was so happy that they sang Dukku no magical adventure!. It’s a song i always wanted to hear live, and one of first songs i heard about An Cafe. But I didn’t think they would actually play it because it is sung with four members. When they played it, i was dissapointed in how Takuya played it ...and not how bou played it but half way through, i decided that this shouldnt get in the way of enjoying the concert. Ahahaha, Miku still has his duck voice, which im surprised that is stilll there after 5 years !. Everytime the band stopped the music, he would talk, which was completly random haha.
Miku: *Holds paddington bear and Donald duck* Which do you like....Which do you like Paddington bear or Duck?”
He teased the crowd pretending to throw the bear in to the fans, but he actually threw it in the crowd...people were fighting for it hahah. The second half of song when they stopped playing, Miku was like “Who do you like....London more or An Cafe more?” everyone was like obviously “AN CAFE MORE”. And then during the song , he got out his plastic toy hammer and hit everyone on the front row on the head hahaha, it was amusing watching Miku hitting the security guard on the head and then actually trying to hit him. Miku sprayed water at everyone (from his mouth..) in the front row and who was close enough catch his spit hahahah..NICE?.. He threw bottles over the bottom fans. Miku also got off the stage, threw water over himself, and basicly headbanged and got it over the fans and then ..I dont know how he survived but he kinda threw himself in to the crowd..well his head..and everyone kept patting or touching his head and hair hahaha. He then went to the right hand side of the venue to do the same thing...and dude...they totally ripped him apart hahaha. His tshirt was like being dragged down to his shoulders and when he eventually walked on to the stage, his tshirt was looked baggy haha. It was crazy watching all these fans trying to reach for him haha.
Afterwards, An Cafe went off to probably change in to their tour tshirts...i think that the encore thing was kinda weak..but yeah, it reached out to them!. Miku was like “Thank you for the encore!”. I figured once from the main set that they didnt sing smile ichiban and bonds, I knew they would sing it for the encore, and yeah i was right. I recorded Bonds, just in time because my camera nearly ran out of battery...it was a 8 minute song. I really love this song. It’s one of my favourite songs by An cafe. It’s a song I would always recognise instantly. It was so fun hearing it and watching them play. Their final song was Smile ichiban...i cant actually do the dance moves haha. I also love this song xD. I’m glad they sang some of their old songs even though they played most of their new ones.
Overall, it was a really great gig even though it was really short and they didn’t play Kakusei heroism. But to tell you the truth, i had a mixture of emotions if i would actually enjoy An cafe. I don’t know why, but for last couple of months I had doubts about the band, maybe it was the new songs, maybe it was because of takuya or maybe i just thought of An cafe as another average band. I came with these feelings all the way to the gig, but towards the end of the gig. I realised, the one thing that most of the bands i listen to that only an cafe have, which is that they are different, they are unique and they reached out to me in the live, and that they will always have the passion no matter what they do. An Cafe are genuine, They try their hardest to speak that country language, so they can just at least show their caffekos some care. I realised towards the end of the night, the little things that An cafe revealed to me. They made me see something i needed to change about myself. I realised how shallow and how narrow minded I have been.My main reason was Takuya, i only knew him as “Bous replacement”, i thought he was an average guitarist, maybe it was because i am an old an cafe fan back when Bou was in the band and i always thought that who ever will replace him will never be as good. But after the song Bonds, I realised how narrow minded i been. After so many months of just bashing him, I finally accepted him as Takuya the guitarist. He has his own style, his own thing. Bou was something special, but I know he will never come back, i know things will never go back, so why not just accept Takuya as who he is? The band has evolved and grown up after Bou left,of course i realised things would change.So at the end of the night, i let go of those negative feelings because it was never worth it and for me this night restored my support for this band. I know from now on, i will always support An cafe no matter what decisions they will make.

In 2008,An cafe brought me back in to listening to Japanese rock again when before all i kept listening to was Death metal, and through this, i started listening to everything from Japanese rock/metal, pop rock, death metal, blues. 2009 they showed me things of myself i needed to change and i finally understood. I really do mean what i just said, i don’t usually say this about other bands i seen. I’m not being a fangirl either. I was there to listen to the music, to dance, to shout and not be there because of the band members. I was there for the music. An cafe are the only few bands i like and know that will reach out to me through their songs, their emotions and music.
I wished it never ended, I want that unexplained feeling again.
