PerVarProjMo: Day 1

Nov 01, 2010 22:02

Yeah, and I forgot to mention that PerVarProjMo = Personal Various Project Month. Like National Novel Writing Month, but not quite.

Today I worked on the AMV for a while, and will continue after it's done rendering. How do you take a photo of your progress on an AMV? Well, the obvious choice is a screencap of the timeline, so I'll have to get more creative later on.

Here's two days' progress - not all that bad, really. If you've wandered under the cut and haven't worked on video before, essentially the screen is laid out as a timeline, with the audio at the bottom (which will turn into a waveform if you zoom in enough) and various chunks of video at the top.

On the right is the first of my slush piles. I've been categorizing shots as I find them: Main Character Being Pensive, Main Character Kicking Ass, Sidekick, Comedy Relief, Everybody Else.

I haven't made a purely action video before, so this could be messy. It's interesting, though. It's hard to get a feel for how it's going to go at this early stage, but I haven't run away screaming yet.
