I would like to see Alec and Magnus back together from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare(as you already know ;) ) They sort of HAVE to get back together or I will most likely crumble in a heap of fangirlish tears and FEELS. :)

"You defy the dark by living in the dark with love." <3 <3 <3 this.
I'm going to go with my old standby: Harry/Draco. I guess they fall under "would have liked to have seen", unless we count fanfiction. ;)

I took a wayward fit and went with Edward/Jacob, and thought about Vivian/Lestat, so this seems eminently fair. ;)

Hrrmmmmmm.... wow, this is very difficult. Too many couples, and that's just thinking of ones that actually happen. I think, for the sake of not droning on forever (and also for the sake of getting back to work), I will have to go with a classical piece and a contemporary piece.

Classical: Elizabeth Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy from "Pride and Prejudice," by Jane Austen: Smart people who learn and grow over the course of an intelligent narrative, with brilliantly-realized secondary characters; yes, please), with a shout-out to other Austen couples.

Contemporary: Kate Daniels and Curran (who, being a werelion and pack leader in Atlanta needs no last name, near as I can figure), from the "Magic Bites" series by Ilona Andrews: Smart, tough, characters who are a match for each other and who grow into their relationship as they learn about each other and also fight bad guys in an urban fantasy setting where magic has returned to the world with a vengeance.

Right; stopping now....

I love Kate/Curran SO MUCH.

I also love Elizabeth/Darcy but so should everyone with souls. ;)

My favorite fictional couples are all couples that don't exist in canon.

Draco/Hermione
Dean/Castiel
Hank McCoy (Beast)/Raven (Mystique) <-- well, this one may be canon, but idk
Jasper/Bella <-- so over Bella/Edward

I also ship Johnlock, but not so much in a regular couple sense, but the kind of super friendship that involves cuddling and drinking tea together.

Beast/Mystique seemed canonly to me in the movie! And I always liked me the idea of some Draco/Hermione. ;)

Oh, I can't wait to read this! I've been on a short story kick ever since I read After.

My favorite fictional couple is probably Julian and Lena from Lauren Oliver's Delirium trilogy. I was not a fan of how things went for them, and I want them back together.

My only problem is it's hard to find good collections of short stories like that--I love the whole theme idea. Kiss Me Deadly was another good one (your stories were great in both books, of course). Are there any other short story books with some of the same writers that I should know about?

Well, I like all the anthologies I'm in (Eternal Kiss, Truth & Dare &c) I've been very lucky with my fellow authors. ;) But for non-ME anthologies, Steampunk! edited by Kelly Link and Gavin Grant is great. And Carrie Ryan's Foretold.
