I spent an hour setting up 32 PCR reactions. 32 different ones, with eight primer sets and eight DNA sets. I did a good job, kept track of everything and got my stuff settled.
I went to turn on the thermocycler, and wanted to wait until the wells were hot before putting in my tubes. I'm a good little scientist.
Today, I come back, ready to do the DNA gel... lo and behold, there they sat, in their pretty pink holder in front of the machine.
I didn't put them in. In trying to do 20 things at once, I dropped the ball. At the final step.
I think that maybe my brain has gone ka-plut and I need to stop doing benchwork until my qual is done. But wait a second-- must have preliminary data to make this dodo bird fly-- no rest for the weary.
I wanted to post this so that all of you can be heartened that you're not as deficient as me today.
