things I love about my job
In some ways, my job makes me like Christians more (after all, it is a Christian organization). Some of it, not so much.
But we do get wonderful emails from all kinds of people that say things like “I have an RV, time off in February, and I once remodeled my bathroom. Can you use me?” And those emails make me laugh (no, seriously, I laugh out loud in the office because they’re just so damn cute and do genuinely want to help and it’s wonderful). So I get to send emails that say, of course we can use you, when really I want to say, I think it’s freaking awesome that you’re taking your vacation time to help build a house. That is so very cool. A couple of weeks ago, I had this high school kid contact me because he and his friends wanted to come out and build on a Saturday. Just kids, just ‘cause. How cool is that?! I think it’s so incredibly cool. This is the part of my job that I like.
That and I sometimes get to hand out cookies.
ETA: My sister comes home today!!!!!! YAY!!!!
