A myriad of STUFF

Apparently, today was National Hug Day. I found out after being attacked (some would call it being embraced) by a number of people. Well, at least that was their excuse. I really hope it was National Hug Day… now I feel slightly violated

Today, I discovered I (apparently) have a thing for Ethan Hawke. I swear, he didn’t look that old in Hamlet! My enthusiasm over this particular Hamlet led to DJ making sure to point out the ages of every single Hamlet we watched. But you have to admit, Ethan (yes, we’re on a first-name basis) looks pretty good as Hamlet. While it may be in a messed-up depressed borderline-suicidal kind of way, it’s in a certain way nonetheless.

Also, I believe I have a new-found respect for Honors Chem. and Junck. For one thing, the lab today was relatively enjoyable. And I found out Junck has a distant relative who used to own The Boston Globe or something like that. Anyway, he’s going to see if he can convince her to come talk to The WEB staff. That’d be pretty sweet.

Another WEB-related event in Honors Chem.: Craig Boeke came up to me with a book he got at the media center book fair. It was called How To Run a School Newspaper. What’s that supposed to mean?! I’m sure he wanted me to read it so that I confirm we’re doing everything it talks about. Yeah, that must be it.

Other WEB-ly stuff: We may have to ditch the MySpace profile because it may be deemed “inappropriate.”

So go to http://www.myspace.com/web_staff and start making REAL comments, people!!! This means actual intelligent suggestions or comments on the newspaper. NOT something like:

Omg, The WEB! LOLZ!

Okay?

By the way, if you don’t regularly watch Saturday Night Live, you should watch this incredibly hilarious video.

Now, here’s my transition to current events.

Good Night, and Good Luck was nominated for six Oscars today.  If you don't know who Edward R. Murrow is, you have to read this.  Now.  In his immortal words, "We cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home."

Coming up: State of the Union update... hey, wait a second, we are addicted to oil!
