Quick update while I am having lunch.
After a fabulously relaxing weekend, it is back to my usual speed of life. I can't even remember the last time I had three days off, or even two days off in a row.
Saturday I finally had a chance to clean out my car. This was much needed and I can see out of the windows again. After that Kelly and I ventured down to the Rib Cook-off at the Tower City Amphitheatre. I had some free tickets so we walked around and checked everything out and then decided that we'd rather go to a restaurant for dinner. We found our way to the flats and ended up at Shooter's. That was so much fun. It was great to catch up with Kel and I had never been to Shooter's before. We sat outside and the weather was fabulous.
Sunday I went to church with parents. After church, my dad and I headed over to the BMC to visit my Grandpa. He was in a pretty good mood so we chatted with him for a little while. We brought him two oranges from a fruit basket that someone had sent him and he enjoyed half of one while we were there. After that my dad and I went to Circuit City because he wanted to get a CD. Best Buy had the Friends DVD's on sale for $16.99. At Circuit City I was able to get an extra 10% off the difference between the Circuit City and Best Buy prices so I got two seasons for $15.19 each. I also picked up some dry erase markers (with four colors) for my grandpa's "message center." On the way home we stopped and picked up some ribs from Damon's and we dropped off the markers with my grandpa. He seemed to like the markers that I picked out so I was glad about that.
Sunday night I went out with Chrissy and some people to celebrate Kristen's birthday. We went to Friday's for dinner and then Fox and the Hound for drinks. A good time was had by all. My cousin Dan was there for awhile as well. It is weird to think that he is now old enough to drink with us... in my mind he is perpetually 14. Anyways, I am so glad that my cousin's and I have such a great relationship and that we still see each other fairly frequently. I think of my mom and dad who see their cousins once a year, maybe twice if there is a wedding or special event. I would like to hope that when we are our parent's age we are still as close as we are today and have the opportunity to see each other and hang out once a month or so.
Monday I went over my grandparent's house for awhile and visited with them. After that we headed over to my aunt's house for a Memorial Day cook-out. My grandpa was able to leave the nursing home for a few hours to come to the cook-out so that was really nice. He seemed to enjoy being with us and I really enjoyed everyone's company as well.
It's almost as if the weekend were too nice and relaxing, because now I am back to the craziness of the work/school week. Here's what's going on for this week... looks like I am pretty much tied up until the weekend.
