I'm stuck at home with a cold. I should be in a small town in central Norway right now, helping to find out how much milk 100 goats can produce in a year....but I'm here instead- surrounded by tissues, cough drops, and school books.
It isn't all bad though...for one thing, I didn't have to get out of my PJ's today. I also have time to study for my big final exams that are coming up in a week. Today, I opened a textbook containing various articles written in 2 different Norwegian writing styles (Bokmål and Nynorsk), and I've been able to read them for hours and understand them without ever having to crack open a dictionary. It is so neet to be able to pick up a book in a foreign language and honestly say, "I can read this". I feel like a little kid who has just picked up a "chapter book" for the first time and found out that it is possible to get all the way through it alone.
