It's been a while...

Okay. I know it's been a while. Or... better yet... more like a century. You probably hate me now. I don't blame you. Things have been pretty hectic this summer. Let me take you back to June 11th. You know that movie, Lords of Dogtown, that I had gushed over for about... FOREVER???? Well, me and Heather finally went to go watch it! IT WAS THE GREATEST!!!!!! EVEN BETTER THAN I HAD HOPED! So, then, the next morning, me and my family left for the Smokies for a vacation. During our stay, we visited the Ripley's Aquarium (I fell in love with this shark they had there), the famous Car Museum (I like... raped the General Lee... until I saw the "DO NOT TOUCH THE CARS" sign), and The Ripleys Believe it or Not Museum (WHERE I SAW CHARLIE MANSON'S JUMP SUIT!!!!!!! HE SIGNED IT AND EVERYTHING)! Needless to say... I was excited. That was all on the day of my birthday... June 13th... my sweet sixteen! Then, on the last day, we did a little shopping (you know I couldn't have left Tennessee without at least one t-shirt). So, we arrived back home on Wednesday, June 15. But, my resting time was short lived. That Friday, I was on the road again, this time to Louisville, to spend a whopping two weeks with my sister (I know... I was bemused by the idea, too). However, the trip was well worth it. On the first night I was there, her and Michael surprised me with.... A CAR!!!! It's the cutest little thing ever! A Ford Probe! I was so happy!!!! It's white on the outside... and on the inside, I have black and red cherry seat covers!!!!! But, anyway, everything was going well. That next Saturday, we were all gonna go to Kentucky Kingdom. But, then, the day before that, on Friday, tragedy struck. My sister's husband, Michael, was in a motorcycle accident. He pulled out from his job, and got into the merging lane, and this man pulled right out from a gas station and hit him. He ended up with a cut on his neck that was 7 inches long... and went all the way down to his spine. It severed every vein in his neck except his juggular. If he had of, he would have died. And, if he hadn't been wearing his helmet (which he rarely did)... the doctor said: "His head would have been rolling down the pavement". When we first got to the hospital (which I didn't think we were gonna make it to because my sister was so nervous)... they looked at us all funny when we said we were there for Seligman, and then they put us into a consultation room by ourselves. When the first person that came into talk to us was a chaplin (the people who tell you someone has died), my sister broke down. But, then, they told her that they didn't have any bad news, and that they thought he would pull through. So, she calmed down. Finally, they moved us to a new waiting room (which was the same waiting room where the doctors had told Michael that his best friend Dave was dead, months before), and we spent most of the night there. Michael's sister Amy showed up... half intoxicated... slurring and making us "PROMISE to ALWAYS wear our SEATBELTS". lol... it was quite a time. But, I love the girl, anyway. She brought us lunch and told us funny stories. As for Michael, they put him in a room the next day, but told him he might be there for a while. So, when my sister's dad (and yes... we have different dads) came down to check on Michael, he just brought me home with him that Sunday. I had to leave my car in Louisville for the time being... but hey... at least I know that I have a car... and two pairs of converse that I got for 2 bucks at a thrift store. lol... I know... you don't have to tell me I'm crazy. But, anyway, the next Friday (July 1st), me and Heather went to one of those wrestling matches with Steven, and we grilled all of the hamburgers and hotdogs! I know you're dying make fun right now... but we did a really good job! Then, the next day was the first of Steven's all star games. Me and Heather were the best "cheerleaders" there... lol. But, seriously, we really cheered the boys on a lot, and even though they lost, we were proud of them because they played their little hearts out. On Monday, July 4th, we went to Pikeville to watch the fireworks! We ended up meeting Sara, Vince, and Aaron there, so we spent most of our time with them. Vince and Aaron were sweet enough to buy us milkshakes, and a little later, Corey showed up. After he showed us his scar from his operation, he piled into the back of Vince's truck with us. lol... that was before it started pouring down the rain and we all started scattering for our cars. Tuesday night, I spent the night with Heather, and after a two-hour nap, we began watching Hide and Seek. It was a great movie, and pretty scary, too. But, it cut out on us right in the middle. After trying to get it to work about 50 times, we just gave up and watched Friday Night Lights. Wednesday (yesterday), we went to Steven's second all-star game. We played Magoffin County, and our heads just weren't in the game. So, sad to say, we lost again. But, it was okay.Tomorrow, I'm going for my permit test... what a scare. To be honest, I really haven't studied a lot... but I guess I could at least try. The day after, we've got another one of Steven's ball games to go to. I really hope we win this one!!! But, there's something else I needed to talk about. I've been feeling odd lately. Like something's missing. And I don't know what it is. Should I pray about it? Should I try to figure it out on my own? The truth is hard to find.... in a room where the windows are closed from the light... and everything's dark.
