So, as some of you know, I have parents, who are both severely ill. My mom has MS and my Dad has Diabetes. Due to some blood circulation problems he has some wounds on his feet, that don't heal; he was in and out of the hospital for this since April.
He has gotten slowly better, at snails pace over the last few weeks, but the wounds don't seem to get better (but they don't get worse, either.)

So he is frustrated and depressed. My mother has actually be doing a little bit better these last few weeks. But tonight I got a phone call at 11 p.m. My mom wanted me to come to her condo. My Dad has Diabetes since he was ten. He has always had problems with his blood sugar being to low. He gets confused, and for an outsider he often looks drunk or simply dumb. This evening he was so low on blood sugar, that he seemed totally crazy,  he didn't respond to my mother, he hindered her getting out of the room, I believe because he grabbed at her for help. He spoke to things and persons, which weren't there. She could get him to cooperate, so she called me. Thankfully she always has the telephone near her in her rollator. So I went there, speeding through the entire city. (I live on the other site of the city) When I came there, my dad barely recognized me. Thankfully I was able to get him to eat something, so that his blood sugar was getting higher and he was better in about 15 minutes. But he surely crept me and my mom out. He told us to call the police, and told someone (who wasn't there) to stay away from his family.
I was frightened, but my mom was totally devastated.

I don't know, how this can go on. According to my mom, things like that happen more and more. It seems, that my dads meds had been adjusted in the hospital, but somehow, he doesn't seem to be able to manage his blood sugar level anymore. He is always either really high or really low in his blood sugar level, which results in either aggressive behavior (high level) or mad episodes (low level).

i have no idea, what I can do, to make this better, to help my parents, to make it easier for them to deal with it. Am I supposed to speak to his doctor about that? Would his doctor even talk to me? I'm pretty sure, that my dad doesn't tell anyone about this. Can his doctor tell me if this are side effects of his medication, or is that all confidential?

I feel so helpless right now.....
