1. Do you remember how you developed a love for reading?
I've been able to read for as long as I can remember and have always loved it. I couldn't imagine a life without books.
2. What are some books you read as a child?
I was a huge Enid Blyton fan and loved the Faraway Tree stories. I was also massively into YA and would read whatever I could get my hands on. I remember reading Snugglepot and Cuddlepie as a kid and was so terrified of the Bad Bad Banksia Men that I wouldn't even go near a Banksia tree, but god how I loved that book. That and The Magic Pudding. My grandparents owned a story book that I used to read over and over and actually asked my Grandmother to leave it to me in her will. I loved Paul Jennings Un- series.
3. What is your favorite genre?
I like fantasy and horror but I'll read pretty much anything, so long as it catches my eye. Not really into romances but I'll read rom-coms like there's no tomorrow. Love mysteries and the suspense involved in reading them.
4. Do you have a favorite novel?
The entire Dark Tower series by Stephen King are my favourite books in the world, The Wastelands being my special favourite. I also loved Harry Potter and always will.
5. Where do you usually read?
In my bedroom on my bed, or in an armchair in the loungeroom. I used to read on public transport but I have a car now so that's become non-existent.
6. When do you usually read?
Whenever I can, but more on weekends.
7. Do you usually have more than one book you are reading at a time?
Hardly ever. The only time this happens is when I've gotten a new book I'm reading and I can't find it or leave it somewhere, or something like that and I grab another one to read while I'm eating or whatever (but that's ALWAYS a book I've read before, I re-read like mad).
8. Do you read nonfiction in a different way or place than you read fiction?
Not at all. I don't read a lot of non-fiction (my Bombers mag being the main exception) but when I do I don't differ in the way I do at all.
9. Do you buy most of the books you read, or borrow them, or check them out of the library?
Hmmm. I rarely buy books because they're so expensive, unless it's the new one in a series or something like that. My mother and Aunt tend to buy books and then pass them onto me which is where a lot of mine have come from, and I've gotten tons of books as presents for birthdays and stuff. I rarely borrow books because most of my friends don't read a lot. I used to go to the library a lot but that's died down since I got the car because I don't have as much time to read now.
10. Do you keep most of the books you buy?
Always. I never give away books, only lend them. Even the ones I don't like that much. I'm weird.
11. If you have children, what are some of the favorite books you have shared with them?
I don't have any, but I'll be putting them onto Harry Potter when they're in the womb if I ever do.
12. What are you reading now?
Nothing at the moment, am supposed to be starting something by George R R Martin (can't even remember the name of the bloody book) that everyone tells me is awesome but just haven't had the inclination.
13. Do you keep a TBR (to be read) list?
In my head, yes.
14. What's next?
This Martin one must be finished (and started hahaha), but I'm still trying to find the latest book in the Temeraire series and the newest one from Sarah Ash (if there even is one, I need to google that).
15. What books would you like to reread?
All of them. Haha. I very rarely don't re-read books, I read my favourites over and over again. I'm thinking about going back through Dark Tower again because a friend of mine has just started it and is getting me in the mood for the some Gunslingers.
16. Who are your favorite authors?
Stephen King, Jody Picoult, Dean Koontz. Jill Mansell for rubbishy chick-lit. Sarah Ash is my newest fantasy fixation and love love love Natasha Novic (but always get paranoid that's not her name. ARGH!)
