proof of progress
today I did 4 loads of laundry, cleaned my house, ironed 3 blouses, made a cover for my brother's chair, altered a shirt (stupid j crew vanity sizing), watched 3 episodes of angel, hung out with my brother and sister, took a mini-nap, photographed (poorly) my latest sewing accomplishments, cooked dinner for three (chicken marsala, risotto, and broccoli) and even managed to shave my legs.
this is what happens when I wake up at six and have nowhere to be. not that I'm complaining.

it's quite difficult to take a self-portrait of your whole arm, but here's the gist of the look. I used the Kannik's Korner pattern (thanks to Jenni) and it went together with zero trouble.
apricot flat cap
again, a self portrait (I need to fix my tripod!). the colors are lousy in this shot, but it's very clearly silly and fussy. it ties at the back of my head via ribbon that comes down from the bows on either side. I was surprised at how well this worked - it bends perfectly and actually stays on my head.
