today I sewed stuff.
this is the first time I've assembled anything by machine that is entirely silk (lining, outside, and interlinings) with silk friend. what a dream! I can't get over how nice it feels!

I love using chalk! this is the wrong side of the silk satin
here is the lining (already assembled) as I work on the front closures
to avoid marking and cutting out the interlining, I pinned silk organza to the satin - the organza is sheer enough that my white chalk marks show through! I machine-basted the organza and satin together, and then cut them out as one.
