There are many fundraising calls I can turn down...
The ones I can't are for children!!!! *sigh* They know how to pull my heart strings XD.
As heartless as it sounds, I prefer to choose the charity I want to donate to, rather than someone call me asking for money. Besides, you sometimes don't know if the person on the other end is truly with that charity or not. I did look up the one that just called me, and they seem ok, so that makes me feel better.
Is it selfish to not want to donate to every call I get? I don't think so. You have to choose for yourself which ones touch you personally and are worthwhile to you. I do donate, as most of you know, I just can't, nor do I want to, donate to every single charity that comes "knocking on my door". If that's bad, so be it.
