Baby on the way!
So, for anybody who I haven't managed to contact in person, on the telephone, or on AIM, we have some news...
Steve and I are having a baby!
The nurse gave me the due date of December 30th, 2006. Although according to the baby books I've read (and I've read a ton), the due date should be January 1st, 2007. I'm not sure why the discrepancy, but, basically, it's right around the turn of the year. Want to make a guess as to which day? Go to www.expectnet.com/ , search for the game "LibraryBaby," and enter your guess. You can enter more than one guess, so once we have the ultrasound and know the sex, if you were wrong, you can make a new one. I'll probably close the game a few weeks before the due date, so get as many guesses as you want in before then! (Although I figure 7 months is plenty of time.)
I'm staying with my parents temporarily because Steve and I were in the middle of renovations. We'd been taking down some walls that had lead paint on them, etc. While a bit of lead isn't all that harmful to adults, it certainly is to babies and expectant mothers. I did get tested for lead since I'd been in the house until we left for our California trip, and it came back negative, but I'm still staying out of harm's way until that part of the renovations is done. Should be at least a few weeks, still. Isn't so bad. Our house is pretty crowded, with everything (and I mean everything, including large appliances) from the kitchen and dining room and laundry closet moved into the living room and stacked while the work is done. Talk about claustrophobia!
