I'll be traveling for a few weeks in July and am looking for someone to sublet my huge, furnished room in New York City's Central Harlem neighborhood. If you think you might be interested or know someone who might be interested, read on.
I will be gone July 6-July 22, so ideally I'm looking for someone who is interested in that period of time. Less is fine, but more probably wouldn't work. The monthly rent is $760 with an additional $50 for utilities, so the prorated rent for the time I'll be gone would be about $450. If you're interested in a shorter time period, I'd be happy to discuss.
The room is about 14 x 9 with hardwood flooring and colorful walls. It has a twin bed, a desk, a dresser and a comfy chair. There is also a window air conditioner you can use. The room is situated in a great 5-bedroom apartment with wonderful housemates - a waitress/actress , two bartenders, and a playwrighting student. The apartment has a large common room and a sunny kitchen. The apartment building has an elevator, a doorman, and a nice lobby. There's a laundromat in the same building, but you have to go outside to get to the entrance.
The apartment is located just four short blocks from the 2/3 125th Street stop. The A, C, B, D, 4, 5 and 6 trains are also within easy walking distance, as is the Metro North. Central Harlem is a very safe, vibrant and historic neighborhood. The Apollo Theater and the Studio Museum of Harlem are nearby, and there are lots of African and Caribbean restaurants. Central Park is just a lovely stroll away.
