Roommates needed! Our 3 bedroom apartment on 4th Ave b/twn 23rd & 24th
St in Brooklyn is about to lose two of the three roommates -- Eve is
leaving in order to go live in sin, and Zac is leaving for a job in
Seattle, leaving Abby in search of roommates. The
apartment is highly affordable -- 1/3 of the monthly rent is $598,
plus we split cable internet, electricity, and gas, for a total
monthly cost of less than $640. We would love one person who could
move in on May 1 (for Eve's room) and one person who could move in on
June 1 (for Zac's room), but Eve has some flexibility about her
move-out, although Zac doesn't have much around his. We would need 1st
month rent plus an additional month's rent (for a third of the
deposit) at move in. The lease is until the end of
Sept this year, and could then be renewed. Here are some specific
details...

Rooms available: Eve's room (the May 1 one) is about 12 feet by 11
feet. It has two windows on two walls, hardwood floors, pale yellow
walls, and a closet. Room could come furnished with queen sized bed
and A/C if so desired, or those items could be removed. Zac's room
(the June 1 one) is larger, about 15 feet by 14 feet. It has one large
window on one wall, hardwood floors, pale yellow walls, and no closet
(there is a hall closet available, or the room is definitely big
enough for a standing wardrobe or two.) Room would come unfurnished
except for an optional free desk and cot (or theoretically with the
bed from Eve's room).

Rest of the apartment: The living room/dining room has an exposed
brick wall, a big window, and a "balcony." (Some might call it a fire
escape. We would call those people lacking in imagination.) Furniture
currently includes a comfy futon-couch, two chairs, a coffee table,
nice art on the walls, a shelving unit thing with books etc on it, and
a smaller shelving unit/drawer thing. The bathroom has a full-size
newly re-enameled tub and a snazzy shower curtain from Ikea (also all
those other normal bathroom things, like toilet and sink...). The
kitchen is nicely laid out and well equipped, with a window.

Location: The building is in a large complex with a courtyard with
grass and trees and nighttime security guard and a live-in super. We
are 1 1/2 blocks away from the R train, 1 block away from the B63 bus
down 5th Avenue, 14 blocks away from the F train, 13 blocks away from
the N & D train. There is laundry on the block and a supermarket
across the street and a really amazing 24 hour gigantic fruit &
vegetable store 3 blocks away. We are within 5 blocks of a lot of
cool old Polish grocery stores and excellent Mexican restaurants and a
terrific espresso place and within 5-10 blocks of assorted Park Slope
bars. Also, we are only 1 block away from super-beautiful Greenwood
Cemetery.

Roommates: We are looking for someone who has his/her own life &
friends & relatively gainful employment, but is open to hanging out on
the couch with a beer or a tea cup from time to time. We are
queer-friendly and open to living with people of any gender, culture,
etc. No cigarette smoking indoors.
