This day wound up being the worst weather wise of the trip but also the best for pony viewing. I took a chance and drove us the long trip to the other side of the island and we were rewarded with many ponies. Please note that all photos were taken with a telephoto lens and I was a minimum one bus length away from all horses photographed and in most cases much further. The horse girl in me wants to go right up to them but these are wild animals and they are large and strong and dangerous.
We also got a glimpse at a Sika Deer - while they are so small and spotted that they are easy to mistake for a baby white tailed deer they aren't! They never get big and they always stay spotted or dappled. So this is a full grown one.
