"The women in your time, what are the like?"

"Good fighters."

I'm reposting, with some editing, this from Terminator Files forum where it just deteriorated into an argument about my feelings about That TV Show (despite the fact I've said the same things in their SCC section). So...

Okay, I've had a certain *eh* attitude about T4, mostly because in T3, which I hate and which screwed things up a lot, they killed off Sarah AND Kate Brewster, at least as she was written and played in T3, did NOT win me over.

I think that the fan base created by the actual role of Sarah Connor... strong, smart, vicious and capable...in other words US... has been totally forgotten. Still we were sizable when it came to ticket and video sales, despite the "boys' movie" stereotype. We have CERTAINLY been forgotten, as far as the characteristics listed above go, by the makers of That TV Show...hence the major theme of these fora at this point.

But will we be forgotten in the new trilogy? Or WILL there be strong and smart female, and NOT MARGINALIZED, female roles here.

And yes, they really have to do Kate Brewster, if they keep with the T3 which I assume they are and therefore will have her, thing a lot better...both writing and acting wise...to make that so. But there must be more.

I'm certainly not seeing any hope for this in anything I've come across. But, I thought I'd throw it out there. What do folks here think? Has anyone heard anything about female (HUMAN) characters at ALL? Who would YOU like to see for women in this?

sarah connor, terminator 4, kate brewster, strong women roles
