SJA cast on TMI
I've just watched the SJA cast (well, Lis Sladen, Daniel Anthony (Clyde) and Tommy Knight (Luke)) on TMI Saturday morning. As I watched (and fast forwarded through the bits they weren't in) I took notes.
There could well be spoilers in here
They were asked to sum up SJA in one sentence, which Lis did by saying it was loads of fun and monsters. Then they showed a clip of Sarah and Maria trying out a machine Sarah had made to look for missing children.
To start with the three presenters gave them a quick fire round.
For Lis the questions & her answers were:
1. Halloween or Bonfire Night: Eh? [question repeated] Halloween.
2. Which Doctor Who Companion, Rose or Martha: Oh, you rotter. Both, I'm not having that.
3. Time travel or train travel: Time travel
4. Strictly Come Dancing or X-Factor: Strictly Come Dancing [she said that very quickly and seemed very sure!]
For Daniel the questions & his answers were:
1. Ghosts or aliens: Aliens
2. Slitheen or Avril Lavigne: Avril Lavigne
3. Spiderman or Cyberman: Spiderman
4. Rugby or football: Football
For Tommy the questions & his answers were:
1. Trick or treat: Trick
2. Dalek or Dalek [both said in a silly voice]: Dalek [in the same silly voice]
3. Past or future: Future
4. Sam or Mark [the two male presenters]: [after a pause, where they both tried to convince him to pick them] Catherine [the female presenter]
Later on, after some other stuff I skipped through, they were asked what the scariest monster was. Daniel said it was the Grass (that's what it sounded like!) because it was small and it was scary to be chased around by a small man. Apparently it also scuttled and had big things on its head.
Then they were asked how early they had to be on set. They started at 8am, but Lis said sometimes there was an hours journey, then make-up, so it was actually more like quarter to 6. The presenter asked how long it took in make-up and Tommy said it took hours for him - "it's not easy to look like this".
Then they had a thing with the two male presenters pretending to be green aliens reading out questions that had been emailed in. One of them would read out the question in 'alien-speak', then the other would translate. After a few goes of this, Daniel did the same 'alien-speak' back.
Tommy & Daniel were asked what it was like to work with Sarah Jane. They said it was immense and fun, and she was a bit bossy. Lis said that she tells Daniel not to laugh so much and Tommy to eat his bananas.
Lis was asked if the Doctor would appear in SJA. She said it wasn't for her to say and you'd better ask the Doctor. So then she was asked if Sarah would be in Doctor Who. She said she'd come back once, so never say never.
They were asked their favourite aliens. Tommy said you can't beat kung-fu nuns. Lis liked Mr Grantham because he was so stupid. Daniel liked the Kudlak because it had big eyes.
Lastly, the boys were asked how they got into acting. Daniel said he joined a drama club when he was at school because he was shy. Tommy said it was pretty much the same thing and he went to stage school. And did ballet there, although he wasn't terribly keen on revealing that.
And that was it. I still have it on my PVR, but sadly, not in a useful format and I have yet to work out how to get it into a useful format.
