Your Knitting/Crocheting Habits & Desires
1. Do you knit, crochet, or do both? Knit only
2. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced? I have been knitting for just over a year. I would consider myself to be intermediate. My grandma taught me how to knit and actually passed away during SPLJ4. I miss my knitting buddy.
3. What are your favorite yarns or fibers to knit with? What yarns/fibers do you avoid, dislike or hate? Are you allergic to any fibers? I don't hate acrylics, if its soft I like it. I haven't knit much with really fancy yarns other than bamboo because of price.
4. Do you spin? Dye yarn? Are you looking to try any of these and, if so, which ones? I will be starting to spin this spring when I get to help my boyfriend's dad shear their 3 llamas. So yes, I want to try both!
5. What do you use to store your needles/hooks? How about your other tools, like stitch holders and point protectors? Where do you store your yarn? I have a knitting needle case, and any needles that don't fit in there are stored in my closet on their own shelf (ok...shelves, its taken over my clothes).
6. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Do you have a needle preference-bamboo, aluminum, plastic, etc.? Are there any needles you would like to try? Don't really care for plastic needles, but I like aluminum and L.O.V.E. bamboo!
7. Do you own a ball winder and/or swift? Would you prefer to receive center-pull balls of yarn, if the person that has you owns a winder/swift and is so inclined? I don't have either. center pull balls would be nice, but if it's not possible, I can do it myself easy enough.
8. Are you a sock knitter? Do you want to learn? I'm not a sock knitter, I want to learn but I'm a little hesitant.
9. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit and/or crochet? I like hats and bags
10. What is your current knitting/crocheting project? Do you have any current obsessions like socks, lace, felting, etc.? starting my first lace project (SOTSii) but I don't really care for felting.
11. Are there any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? Are there any new techniques you'd like to learn? What have you always wanted to try knitting/crocheting? I love learning new techniques. I have about all the books I want but others are good.
12. How old is your oldest UFO (UnFinished Object)? since September 2007. It's a sweater that I did one whole row in the wrong stitch and I'm dreading unpicking it.

16. Would you like to receive hand knitted socks? If so, what are your foot measurements? (i.e. measure around the ball of your foot and also the length from heel to toe.) Of course, giving this information is no guarantee that you will actually receive knitted socks. It's just in case. no, I actually have too many socks right now, everyone likes to give them for christmas.

With that aisde, you can all ignore it, I'll get on to telling you about my weekend.
We went to Fort which was a great time. Friday we relaxed when we got there, watching TV with Steve's parents. Satirday morning we had to get feed for the horses, then Steve's mom and I went uptown to go shopping. I got a pair of fleece lined jeans which will be awesome for skating!! They were only 20$ which is super awesome. The part that made me the happiest is that the jeans I bought in December were a 16 (yes I know, I have a big bum) and these are a 14, even with the lining. That totally encourraged me to keep up with my healthy eating.
Saturday night we went to Darren and Alicia's place for a murder mystery dinner party. It was fun, even if I wasn't the murderer. Sunday I helped Steve's mom around the house while he helped his dad with the horses. He had to do Saphire and Vision's feet but Vision had a sore spot and when he tried to touch one of her feet she freaked out, knocked him over and stepped on his arm. He didn't break anything, but he's got a real good bruise starting and its quite swollen. We left pretty early in the afternoon yesterday because it was supposed to start freezing rain. It didn't in the end and it's a beautiful day today! The storm is supposed to come tonight though as a blizzard instead. That won't be fun, but maybe I'll get a snow day to study out of it.
When I got home last night, my mom was telling me how her and my dad bought a treadmill this weekend. It should be here any day now which will be good to help me with my weight loss when its too cold to ice skate. So with that, the availability of exercise and the progress I've made so far, however small it may be, I signed up for weight watchers today. I'm doing it online because the only nights it's offered near me are nights I teach piano and I can't make the meeting. They also had a deal that made it roughly 7$ a week instead of the 13$ it was when I went in to the meetings. I'm feeling very good about it except I'm already having trouble sticking to it. Again I find that I can't eat enough to fill my points. But if that's my biggest problem, I'll be alright I think. anyway, back to work I go!
