Back from my Egypt trip:)
It is certainly not those typical holidays that I always have. Not much of shopping, drinking yes but not clubbing. I would say this is more of experiencing life for me.
I like to go long holidays when I feel dry cause I always have new revelations after each trip that would help me in my career or my personal life.
This trip made me realized even more how fortunate or blessed I am, to be born and raised in Singapore. How protected we are. Our government really protects and ensures we have a roof over our head. In Luxor (Egypt) many of the buildings have no roof, they use plastics to block out the sun or covers the rain, reason is because they have to pay 40% property tax once the building is completed thus many of them did not do the roof so that it will be incomplete. Even the locals find this law stupid but what can they do? To put it simply, most people doesn't even have a roof over their heads.
I was told by my tour guide that the government had intended to convert a piece of land into open Musuem and they didnt pay or pay very minimal to the Villagers who had stayed there for more than 200years. In Singapore, even if our government wants to redevelop an area, they would also ensure the residents have a place to stay and honestly compensation is always considered good. I really dunno what many people are complaining about. Sometimes I wonder will they be happy only if government pays them few thousands every month and take care of all their needs for free from education to housing to funerals? What's the difference between them and the handicaps or the 吃软饭的?of course I do think constructive feedbacks and ideas are important, so these are not the people I am referring to. I am only referring to those who complains for the sake of complaining, 鸡蛋里挑骨头的人.
I also see that many of them are still believing that woman are the weaker ones and being a woman should not be seen in public unless you are all wrapped up. Do they think woman is disgraceful? Of course there are also very kind and nice people and I have met quite a number of them but it's kinda sad to know that in this era, there are still such thinkings and teachings, even those young children.
Pyramids are beautiful and truly, the works are amazing considering the facts that there are no machines thousands of years ago, however I am more attracted to the places they are located at than the pyramids itself. I also told myself I wanna cover the natural wonders of the world before I cover those man-made ones. 所谓的natural wonders are actually God-made. Grand Canyon is surely much more magnificent than Pyramids. God raising the dead is certainly more marvelous than mummies. I also realized that no matter what we do, our works can never outdo God.
Went to the Red Sea for snorkeling and the Red Sea is really very deep, it is indeed an amazing work to split the Red Sea. God really loves the Israelites. I saw Mount Sinai too, where Moses gave the law. It is indeed dry and no life. I want to see Mount Zion, I really wish to visit Israel in 2012.
Had a number of revelations but I dun seem to get any for my work. I need to pray for God's wisdom and favor upon me le. I was so angry with myself when I missed church on Xmas, overslept:( but I know that He is already aware this would happen when He let me go Egypt. Whether Xmas or not, I will never forget He was born into this world just to die for my sins :)
Kelvin and Eric jio me Malacca and KL this Fri, they will be driving up. I dunno if I should go, miss the food and my Didi but I wanna go church and also I already intended to celebrate with Louis le and he doesn't want to go with them, TMD. Sigh. See how in another few days ba.
Seriously have to do my planning for 2012 le.
