Sorry for the lapse!

Goodness, it's been a while since I last updated this! Let me think... So much has happened since I last wrote. Well, in everything except the reconstruction of the Benbow! I had to pull out Delbert's address book the other night to try and get a hold of these silly worker men and find out what's going on. They have barely been in contact with me this past week, and no work has been done at all!

Well, to make things more difficult, Delbert has only listed people's communication-aliases and numbers, with no mention of who they might be! Well, now that I think about it, that might be to keep Katherine from getting a hold of those young girls who admire him so much, but it made things exceptionally awkward for me!

I had to call up four strange names when their communicators became active and ask them if they were workmen! I was so embarrassed...

Although, I must admit, it did sort of work out in a peculiar way! One of the last names I tried, Diorai, well she turned out to be one of those, um, female friends of Delbert's (and also of my Jim, apparently!) and she was just the nicest girl to talk to!

We wound up chatting for hours! It was so nice to have someone to gossip with, what with Delbert and Katherine being so... tense lately, and Jim at school, and B.E.N., well... I don't really talk to B.E.N.... More often than not, the only person who will listen to me is Jim's pet Morph! And I'm not even sure what Morph is! Oh, it made such a change! She's such a lovely young girl. I did try to hint that my son was such a lovely young boy, but she didn't seem very interested. It's a shame, too, I would have loved for Jim to bring someone so nice and polite home for dinner or something! Maybe she could have rubbed off on him!

She was explaining a little about Delbert's position to me, since she knows more than I do. She even tried to talk Katherine around a little bit, trying to soften her up to Delbert! Such a nice girl!

I really don't know what's going on with Katherine, though. Diorai and I both tried to talk to her, but I'm not sure what's going to happen to she and Delbert. Yesterday, I came outside to gather in Jim's laundry (I really have to buy him some other colours for his wardrobe - since everything he owns is black, he gets his own washing load!) and Katherine and B.E.N. were writhing on the ground, cemented together with what looked like tar, both covered in feathers (which, I must admit, was probably my fault since I swept them all outside rather than pick them up so I wouldn't take an allergic reaction), and B.E.N. kept saying something like, "You'll have to be my eyes now, Momma!" It was the strangest thing I've ever seen in my life! I know this will sound horrible but, maybe Delbert was better to have broken up with her rather than go through these... things. Delbert had actually already found them before I did, but he wasn't saying anything. He had a look on his face as if he didn't know whether to laugh or cry. We all just froze for the longest, most awkward moment before I reminded Delbert that Jim and I would be moving out as soon as the Benbow was rebuilt, and decided to take in Jim's clothes later.

I found out later that it was B.E.N.'s attempt at making toffee that was sticking them together (although how that came to be is still unclear to me, and frankly, I'm not sure I want to clear the matter up). Poor Jim had to clean it off them since I'm allergic to feathers and it would have been a bit awkward for Delbert. (It must have been mother's intuition to put a fresh load of clothes in the wash the night before!)

That robot is a menace in the kitchen! I think I'm going to sit him down some day and show him the proper way to cook things - without his weird... robot bits as ingredients! Perhaps he can help me with this new menu idea, if he ever learns the difference between milk and oil!

Goodness, you can't find a more eccentric household on all of Montressor! And that most likely includes the jail house.
