i'm sitting at panera with my sister and scheff, still in my workout clothes. it's a good day :) yes, i realize it's been a while since i've updated my blog. sorry bout that. i'm working on getting life under control. it's been a little nuts lately.
i'm trying to decide if i am over-committed or working too hard. i'm not sure yet. yes, i know i am working long hours. yes, there is a lot to be done. yes, i can accomplish slightly more per day if i stay long and put in extra time. my goal in all of that is to be a good example of a hard-working follower of Jesus. i want people to see how hard i work and give the credit to Jesus. my problem is balance. i don't want to be foolish when it comes to the areas of personal health (my workout "routine" leaves something to be desired, as is demonstrated by my tighter and tighter jeans), social interaction (my aunt asked me what i did for "fun" at thanksgiving and i couldn't really come up with a quick answer), and volunteer service (spare time? ha!). so, my current dilemma is to try and identify exactly the right work/life balance. bleh.
the holidays were/are madness. thanksgiving and christmas have come and gone, and now we're on to a big party this afternoon/evening. all of the uncles go golfing to escape the henhouse for a bit and then we come back for a big party. i love my crazy family. i got a bike shop gift certificate for christmas, so i'm busy dreaming about what i'll spend it on.
speaking of biking, i've been on the bike once since the arm break. it was good to get back on, but it definitely showed me how long it had been since i'd gone riding. darn... i have to break into the whole riding thing again. i was hoping to avoid that.
oh, and my other exciting news. i havve a new friend who is coming up from portland to visit next weekend. we're trying to see if there is anything more than friends. i'm kind of excited :) [blush]
and... cal is coming to visit for a week!!! he has to do some stuff for work out here, so i get to see him again! i'm super stoked.
and after that, my sister and i are going to acapulco for a week. not even joking. it should be a good couple of weeks.
tchau!
