Although I've been swept up a bit in subsequent fandoms, I wanted to declare that I've never lost my first love for the Harry Potter ship Harry/Ron/Hermione. While I, of course, ship Trio so hard that when I think about them, groups of three in China start making out, I have to say that I really disagree with the whole "Harry and Hermione don't love each other 'that way'" trope, primarily because I don't believe in "That Way"/"Not That Way" outside of actual sibling relationships. Other than that, I think it's self-imposed walls deliberately, if unconsciously, placed out of deference to social constraints.

I think my Harry in "Where Most It Promises" has it right:
