odd/nifty subway ride
my subway ride down to have tea with muchtoofeminine and attempt going to the SnB was... odd.
the subway pulled into the station near my house, and it seemed darker than usual. when i got inside i realized most of the lights were off. not just one car, the entire train. i pondered waiting for the next one, but figured no harm taking one that wasn't as bright as usual. it wasn't until it pulled out of the station and into the tunnel that i realized that it wasn't *most* of the lights that were off, it was *all* of the lights that were off. in the non-lit places in the tunnel, the only light visible at all was a few people's cell phone/ipod screens. being in toronto/canada, everyone getting on at further stations looked around, shruged, and pretended nothing was out of the ordinary. it was odd and amusing and nifty.
i wish i could take a dark subway to work every day i think! it'd make for easier commutes a lot of days... it was also one of those times that being able to read with your paws is an advantage. *giggle*
