Back from Guelph
So after attending an employment workshop Thursday I headed off to Guelph. I spent the night with mom and her friends. The next morning at 5:30 we got up to take mom to Guelph General Hospital. She went in for surgery and we got some breakfast by the time we were done eating she was done her surgery and we (me,Rachel and Mom's friends Gloria and Liw who drove her to her surgery) waited for mom and made phone calls to concerned friends. Good news she does not have cancer or its less than 5 percent chance she does and her cyst was not attached to any organs. Then Rachel and I spent the day with mom helping her out ie getting her water, ginger ale etc and talking to her. She was a little dooped up on morphine. That night Gloria stayed to help at the hospital so Rachel and I could get some sleep and non hospital food, we went to atmosphere for smoked salmon and brie pizza.
The next morning we got some breakfast and headed off to the hospital around noon, we entertained mom, as did her friends including Freddie. Let's say we all ignored the two visitor max at the hospital at one time mom had 6. She got to go home that night which was good. Alex and I got her some mangoes and tomato soup (she wanted mango smoothies and tomato soup with Tuc crackers). We had a pic-nic in her room with David, Micheal, Freddie, Gloria, Liw and Alex. Then her friends left so mom could sleep. We spent Sunday helping out, basically doing laundry and making her smoothies then drove Rachel to the train station.
This week I am doing more job search stuff, working at the food bank and going to another workshop. Besides that not much. I think I will make mom some soup.
