Snoozetown

Its miserable blowy rainy out today. It was very difficult to get out of bed this morning. I love the rain but I love it so much more when I dont have to go to work.

These pictures make me feel better:

sure the whole of connecticut is full of rich WASPy types but hey, Mark's got a beautiful neighborhood... and there are only a few rich WASPy types nearby. these are from my second walk with Cypress of the weekend.

and then there are these (which Mark bought at a gas station near his house):

Sure they're expensive, sure  they last til 2011 but LOOK AT THAT BUNNY! up near the top!
we were seriously flabberghasted and thinking they were fake Duracells or something...
now at first i was all "oh man, the bunny looks so weird!" but then i realized that there isnt usually a pink bunny on Duracell batteries, there's a pink bunny for ENERGIZER batteries!

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?
upon futher google-searching i thought that maybe that Duracell bunny is the mascot in other countries?
and wouldnt you know it, Wikipedia answered ALL of my questions...

"The Duracell bunny predates the Energizer Bunny, which actually began as a parody of the Duracell bunny toys that became a collectible item. People often get the two confused, although there are distinct differences between the two. There are differences in appearance - the Energizer bunny wears sunglasses, has larger ears, is a different shade of pink and has a different body shape. Also, while the Energizer bunny is a single rabbit, the Duracell bunnies are a species. The Energizer bunny is always depicted with a drum, as the Duracell bunny toys that it is a parody of had drums, but the actual Duracell bunny advertising campaign has moved beyond this, and Duracell bunnies are usually depicted as doing something other than beating a drum.
The Duracell Bunny does not appear in North America, due to the now iconic status of the Energizer Bunny, but he can be seen from time to time."

Well, I'll be dammed!
(Personally I think i prefer the Duracell Bunny... he seems much more humble and down-to-earth when compared to the sunglasses-clad showboat over at Energizer.)

ooooooookkay, time for work.
Sorry to fill up your page with my long post but guess who doesnt feel like cutting it? me. and really, is there anything that  ANY of your friends could talk about that's more interesting than battery mascots? yeah, i didnt think so.
