Wait until you're 30, and looking back at the person you were at 22, 24, or 27. I can't relate to those Tiffinys anymore. Funny how much you just keep growing and changing as you age. There are a lot of people who look back on their past and say how much happier they were when they were younger, but I look at myself now and think how much happier I am now that I am older. I guess I enjoy looking forward to the future.
I would hold off on grad school if you don't have to go right away. It's nice to get a job and get some experience under your belt before heading off to grad school. I wish I had waited some time before going to grad school. I only had one semester away after graduating before returning back to school. But anyway, I would just start applying NOW. Make yourself a nice CV, Register it on monster, but start calling places. 60% of jobs aren't even posted, they're just given by people who have contacts. It's important to make those contacts now.
And if you decide on grad school, if you choose wisely, you wouldn't need your parents' help anyway. You'd find a school that will give you a teaching or research assistantship. DONT go to grad school unless you get otherwise, trust me. For teaching 20 hours per week at MSU, they paid for 9 credits of tuition per semester, gave me student health insurance, and I also got paid a 1200/month stipend during the time I was working (but not in summer). It was great!
