Your life plays out on the shadows of the wall

How long has it been since a real entry?

~ Well, I never did finally tell you all about my weekend at Peggy's. It was pretty fabulous. To say I remember everything that happened would be a big fat lie. But here are the bits that I do. Jill texted me at about 1:30 on Friday telling me that one of the important roads to getting to me was closed due to high water. So I gave her directions to a grocery store nearby because I don't know the road names around my apartment and didn't feel like having to make her guess number of stop lights, lol. So after meeting her at the grocery store, she followed me to the bank and the gas station before heading out to my parents house to park her car. We unloaded my camera's SD card (in like 18 hours) grabbed a few snacks for the road, then hit the highway for Iowa. 7 and a half hours and a gas/Arby's stop later, we drove past Peggy's road, turned around, twice, and then got to Peggy's house. Peggy was, natuarally, estactic to see us. We got all our crap inside, and I gave Jill and Peggy their gifts (HSM tote bags with HSM goodies inside) and Peggy gave us our "goodie bags" full of chocolate, body lotions and such, a long with my own custom solo cup that said "Corbin's Cutie." Jill was "Matt's Mrs." Next we watched my Corbin Bleu Crew copy of his concert in El Paso. *dies* I sooo didn't even notice anything else that happened in that 40 minutes. I'm pretty sure Jill and Peggy we're making fun of me, but I'm not sure. After that we watched some TV, then made Jill watch Rent, cuz she hadn't seen it for a long time. She liked it, but the live show is better. Completely agreed. After that, it was Disney Channel time. And sleep time, kind of. Peggy and I took the floor, sick Jill took the couch. I laid and poked Peggy for a good half hour. She said she would have bruises, but I don't think she ever would :P After a bit, we fell asleep. Woke up in the morning when Peggy came home with Spencer, my new buddy. We made some breakfast bowls, Spencer and I shared a little bit. He is completely too adorable. Shortly after, Peggy and Spencer soon settled into a chair for a nap. I fell asleep on the floor. I don't know that Jill ever slept, but who knows, maybe she did. We woke up later and called Jule... even though she won't want me to bring it up. We put her on speaker and talked to her for two hours. It was a super fun time. We learned how to say her name correctly. It's more like yooo-la as opposed to Jewel like I assumed. She's adorable, I love her lots, and I want to call her again once I have the money to afford it. Sometime after that Spencer left, and Abbie showed up. Abbie is so cool. Can't hold her booze, but she's cool. We went and got El Rodeo while Peggy colored Jill's hair. While we had dinner we watched Nikki's new movie Queen Sized. Nikki was good, movie was not. Then came out the solo cups. I had apple martini mix plus vodka, Peggy had a bloody mary, Abbie was vodka and orange juice (LOTS more vodka than OJ), and Jill pretended to drink vodka with cranberry juice. We had our HSM2 drinking game rules from Holden:

DRINK WHEN…

1. Troy has an ass moment...no, not whenever you see his ass...whenever he IS an ass.

2. Coach Bolton is creepy...in a "I'm trying oh-so-hard to be one of the guys, but am sadly only succeeding in being creepy" kinda way.

3. Someone says a song title (HSM1 titles included).

4. Chad/Tay share a "couply" moment.

5. Ryan/Gabi make us squee.

6. Troy looks like he just got out of a hot-tub full of fake tan.

7. Troy says something cheesy.

8. Gabi giggles cutely.

9. Mr Evans makes a move to fix Ryan's hat.

10. Troy and Gabi are about to kiss, but undoubtedly get interrupted by some idiot.

11. Sharpay acts like a Diva

12. Troy breaks a promise.

13. Someone gets called a "Waterbug" or "Wildcat".

14. There's a "WTF?" moment.

15. Martha or Jason are in a scene needlessly.

16. Troy&Gabriella have a "having sex without actually having sex" moment.

We took out #5 because we aren't that big of Ryan/Gabi shippers, and for #6, we just shotted Pucker instead istead of taking a drink every 5 seconds :P For number 11 we had to finish a glass during "Fabulous," and for #14 we had to finish a glass for "Bet on It." The movie, well, let's just say we don't remember much of it. I do remember saying I wanted to "fuck Corbin til next Tuesday" and I do believe at one point I said I would "even fuck Lucas to next Tuesday. Sorry about that Tay, it was the booze ;) I think it was about YATMIM reprise when Abbie puked, but continued to drink. And about BOI when Peggy puked. So I was the drinking game competition. After the movie, Abbie sobered up and went home, Peggy and I played HSM2 UNO... if you had to draw a card, you drank. Peggy was so drinking warm beer, and drew 700 times more than I did. Then we played war with my giant HSM2 cards. You lose war, you drink. You guessed it, Peggy drank more warm beer. Then we were bored with cards and drinking, after Peggy made out with the Ryne UNO card, we played two rounds of the HSM DVD board game. Oh yah, Jill was long asleep by then, by the way. After the game, we kinda passed out. The next morning when we woke up, I psyched myself up for like an hour and a half before actually leaving. 7 and a half hours later, I was home. Got Jill out to the road she needed, and she was on her way out. And that, my good friends, was my weekend at Peggy's. :D

~ The next week was kind of a blur. My grandma died, but, you all already know that. Just cuz I feel the need to, this was her obit in the local paper:Dorothy Edna Barnett, 96, of 3803 Pennypackers Mill Road, died Thursday afternoon, Jan. 17, 2008, at Home Hospital.

Born Nov. 11, 1911, in Lisbon, Ransom County, N.D., she was the daughter of the late Herman A. Mason and Nellie N. Jarvis Mason of Lafayette. She attended grade school at Attica, Ford School and Linwood School, both in Lafayette, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1928. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and science at Purdue University in 1932.

She married Herbert Eugene Barnett on May 1, 1936, in the chapel at Methodist Trinity Church. They lived in Earl Park and Fowler and spent most of their married life in Morocco, where her husband worked at Barnett Grain Co. Later, they moved to Frankfort, and since his death in 1985, she had lived with a daughter in Lafayette.

Mrs. Barnett had worked at Lafayette Life Insurance Co., taught at Morocco and North Newton High schools and later in life was on the staff at the Frankfort Times.

She was an active member of Faith Baptist Church, a past member of the Order of Eastern Star in Morocco, a volunteer worker at the Tippecanoe County Library and the organizer of the annual Barnett reunion.

Mrs. Barnett was an active gardener, reader, traveler, mushroom hunter, and an avid Purdue sports fan. She enjoyed playing cards and board games.

Surviving are three sons, Neal Mason Barnett (wife: Linda) of Greenbelt, Md., Herbert Eugene Barnett, Jr. (wife: Frances) of Cordova, Tenn., and Randall Floyd Barnett (wife: Charlotte) of rural Frankfort; and two daughters, Bonnie Jean Storey (husband: Jack) of Morocco; and Janet Louise Armstrong of Lafayette, with whom she resided.

Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and a companion, Jackson Viol. Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Joan in 1947, her brother, Harry Jarvis Mason, in 1988, and her granddaughter, Jill Naomi Armstrong, in 1992. Dorothy was a vigorous, forward looking woman with traditional values which included a strong faith, a strong work ethic and thriftiness. She was self-confident, outspoken, and competitive, but was warm-hearted and had a keen sense of humor. She was a role model to many who knew her.

That's pretty much all I have to say there anymore. The services were a blur, and made me cry some more, but I'm good now, as is the rest of the family. As soon as I the picture of me when I was about 5 reading to my grandma, I'll scan and post it. Makes me smile a little.

~ Last week, I had a death cold. Spent all day Tuesday and Wednesday lying on my couch sweating out fevers and dying with phlegm in my lungs. But now again, all better.

~ Saturday was the first speech meet for our team. Only 3 entries were able to go. One place 2nd, once placed 7, as a school team we placed 10th out of 15 schools, which is phenominal with how few entries we had, so YAY speech team!

~ And now, I'm back to going to class, all normal again. I'm now off to a psuedo-hiatus. Prolly no entries, prolly no comments, but I will read your stuff. I just gotta get some homework done, gimme a week or so.
