Indeed. They also pioneered chocolate bars in deep fried batter.

The ONLY way to eat Scottish food is to wash it down with lots of single malt whisky (preferably an Islay such as Laphraoig or better still Bruichladdich). That way, you appreciate the whisky and don't notice the food.
