First Day
It was pretty cool. Basically spent the day meeting everyone, learning names, figuring out routes from the office to the cafe, handling collection, and so forth. The highlight was getting my hands on some of the handling collection's textiles & costume pieces and helping to figure out proper names, dates, countries of origins and so forth. It makes me wish I'd brought my notebook from World Textiles last quarter, since everything in the handling collection has been covered in that class, and I must have been half-asleep through it because I can only remember bits and pieces. ARGH!
But otherwise, I felt like I was making some good educated guesses without having any reference material to back me up, so that was nice. I'll be responsible for filling in the catalog with reference material, actually, which is even better, since research & documentation are my favorite ways to pass the time. :)
And now, I'm going to ring guyelfkin before passing out cold. I am so tired!
